Hola mon peeps,
Happy Friday! π
Yawns are plentiful at the moment, and so has been peanut butter and jelly over the last few days. And it was another beautiful spring day. A little warmer, but still very nice.
Happy May. π
So… I took another day “off,” meaning that I answered phones, got my tech what he needed, went to the junk yard to prepare for a car I need to work on, and just generally did all the stuff I have to do but don’t actually get paid to do since I’m not actually working on a car.
Buuuuuuut… I didn’t actually work on any cars, so it’s a day off.
Right? π
I did go out to lunch with my nephew, and I did go to my fabulous niece’s sweet 16 birthday party. (Crazy to think, if life went how I thought it was going to when I got home from my mission, I could have a 16 year old right now! Yeah… that didn’t happen). I goofed around with and played a little catch with my nephews, and just had an enjoyable day.
Good stuff.
Super short entry today.
Yup. Short.
Soooo… we’ll do some gratitude, and we’ll do some sleep.
#1. I’m grateful to have an employee so that on days like the last couple, I can make at least some money while I’m not “working.”
#2. I’m grateful to have been able to spend some time with my extended family who live on the next hill over. I’ve not been very plugged in since I stopped going to church a year and a half ago. I guess I’m just uncomfortable. I doesn’t have anything to do with them. They’re great and don’t treat me any differently at all. It’s just… I don’t really feel like I belong so much, and it’s a little awkward within myself. But it was good to be there.
#3. I’m grateful that despite several medical issues, I’m still able to do things like play catch, do yard work, etc. Some people can’t do that anymore, and some never could. I can’t wait to get to the point that what I’m doing really does make a difference in the world. Not that fixing cars doesn’t, but… There are lots of people out there who need love and acceptance and encouragement, and I have lots to give.
#4. I’m grateful that my little Honda Accord is still working well for me. It’ll be a shame when it sells, as I do like it, but I’d like the money it’s worth more right now. I think. I’ve also been looking at this car. I’ve loved these ever since they came out. And it’s super cheap. Has a few problems, but it’s cheap.
#5. I’m grateful to have a busy business and to be healthy when so many people are out of jobs, and many are sick and dying.
Thanks, for reading my journal entries. I hope they are a benefit to you.
Oh, and add another day for everything. I even abstained from the sweets at the birthday party today.
I’m getting my self discipline back.
Bit by bit.
