2020-08-03 — Another Crazy Monday

Hiya, folks,

I’m way passed my bed time. It’s after midnight now. I did get up at 6 this morning.

(and the people rejoiced 😊)

Might be a bit hard tomorrow to get up… might need to sleep in a bit for my own health’s sake. We’ll see. It’s been an interesting and lovely day. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve had lots of conversations with different friends spread out through my work day and after. Three of my Utah friends reached out to me today. One of them had a message for me that was waiting there when I woke up. Made my day 😊

Another sent a picture of the newest member of the family (another little dog 😊). And I my friend Cory called as well. It’s nice having good friends to be connected to. I’m tentatively planning a trip out to Utah… probably in… November? We’ll see. I’ve got a new tech starting on September 1st, part time. Once he’s trained in at least the basics and going on his own, then I’ll just run the business on my phone and go visit family and friends all over, I think. It’s time. I haven’t been to Utah in over two years now, I think. Haven’t visitedΒ any family since 2018. So… need to go visit Utah peeps, Nevada peeps, Washington peeps, and California peeps. And maybe some others as well.

We’ll see.

I only worked on one car today, as I spent most of the rest of my time talking with my friends. That car kicked my little butt. It probably would have been a simply no start diagnostic, but the customer tried to fix it himself and ended up messing some things up, I think? Anyway, after the 6-hour starter debacle the other week, I was a little nervous this was a repeat. I tried six ways from Sunday to verify the starter was bad. I think it is, but… it sometimes tested okay off the car.

Ugh. So weird.

I want David to go look at it tomorrow. And that was the plan, but he’s gonna beΒ loaded tomorrow, and I’m not just going to be playing cleanup: I’m going to be playing scramble around and try and finish a gazillion cars myself. It’s gonna crazy. I’ll be running around like a maniac trying to get everything done and make sure David has everything he needs.

Bring. It. On.

It’ll be a great day to practice letting any and all negativity that wants to come creeping, crawling, charging, or barreling in… a great day to practice letting it just… float away on the breeze. πŸ™‚

After work, I helped my buddy move out of his house and storage unit into his new apartment. He’s excited. things have been rough for him, and moving to a new place sort of helps get that feeling of moving forward.

Well…

#1. I’m grateful for great friends who brighten and lift my world.

#2. I’m grateful for love. It’s such a powerful and beautiful thing.

#3. I’m grateful that, just when things felt like they were starting to slow down with work, and I was a little concerned that I might not have enough for my tech to stay busy, the phone rang off the hook and buried us. πŸ™ƒ

#4. I’m grateful that August, so far, generally the hottest month of the year has started off quite pleasantly.

#5. I’m grateful I was able to make a bit more progress cleaning up the super cluttered driveway. Just a few more minutes worth of tidying up, and it will actually be… cleaned up. πŸ™‚

To do/be better…

#1. Be a little more focused. Unexpected things come up all the time, and today’s were wonderful, but I can still be more focused and not let myself get so πŸ™ƒ… turned upside down and distracted from getting done some of the things I can still get done.

#2. I haven’t been very good at eating lately. Just… busy? Thinking about other things? Not very many options at home that I want to eat, and I’m not out and about generally when I can go grocery shopping, and Covid-19 store hours don’t help… stores are closed when I’m ready to shop. πŸ™ƒ

My eyes are heavy. Time for sleepy. Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.
