Hola, my lovelies,
Happy… Tuesday? Is it Tuesday? Hmmm…
Whatever day it is, happy day to you. ๐ Let’s see… I was up late, and so I wasn’t quite on target with my morning stuff because I didn’t get up at 6, like I could have. I did get some prayer and study in. Missed my little morning meditation session in, but I’m going to do a little meditation before bed.
I still have two of my 4x5s to do (house and room). Did the garage/driveway and the yard already. Good progress in the yard and driveway. Happy about that.ย It’s nice to see the visual change from my efforts. Got the weeds I’d pulled up and the rose bush trimming picked up, and I got all the lawnmower parts that have been sitting on the side of the driveway put with the rest of the lawnmower parts. I want to see that in the house and my room as well, so I’m gonna get that done here shortly.
Honestly, despite starting off a good bit off kilter, I had an enjoyable day. Had a lot of fun with a friend of mine today. Good conversation. Good times. You know… my life feels… like it’s coming together bit by bit? I have hopes for the near term and the long term, and I’m trying not to get them up to high, but they are up a little. That said, I’m still gonna focus on what I can control–namely, my attitude and who I become. ๐
In that vein, I think I had some pretty direct evidence of the correlation, for me at least, between the amount of sleep I get and my level of patience. ๐ It’s been a really good day, and yet, I got frustrated quite quickly when the lawnmower wouldn’t start.
(news to Stephen… it’s hard for a lawnmower to run without… uh… gas.)
Anyway, Iย wasย able to kick the frustration to the curb pretty quickly, so that was good, at least. ๐ And I got the chigger grass cut from around where all my cars and trucks are parked.
Lesson learned, though. Gonna need to be extra careful when I don’t get enough sleep? It’s weird, though, because sometimes on low sleep I’m just goofy–slap happy–the jokester, etc. Don’t know why the difference, but… whatever. ๐
So… let’s see. I was proud of myself that I was able to diagnose the first car. The description over the phone didn’t sound so easy, but I figured it out. I had wanted my tech to do that one. I was a little concerned about the next one because it was a shift cable problem, and there were no parts available. Fortunately, I was able to figure out that the issue was different than what the customer thought it was and I was able to fix it quite quickly and get him back on the road. The last one was a little harder because it was a crank, no start. Turned out to just be a simple fuel pump issue, but it’s a little harder to test some things without a second person. Well, at least until I remembered I had my super duper scan tool with me, then it was pretty easy ๐.
My tech got stuck on a huge job for… ever. He wasn’t answering his phone, and so I had to postpone two jobs he was supposed to do. Poor guy. Job gave him all sorts of fits. Took like 9 hours? Was only supposed to take about 5 1/2. He’s gonna start a little later tomorrow, so that’s good. Needs to get some extra rest after a day like today.
Anyway, it’s just about midnight. Time for…
#1. I’m grateful for red light filters on screens before bed.
#2. I’m grateful for the incredible versatility of cell phones. I use mine for… so many things. It’s my main flashlight. It’s my video camera for seeing hard to reach places. It’s my computer for keeping track of my finances and scheduling and billing, it’s my to-do list. It’s about 20 other things. And… well, it’s my phone, too… yeah.
#3. I’m grateful for good memories.
#4. I’m grateful to be happy.
#5. I’m grateful to have a nice place to sleep.
#6. I’m grateful that I’m getting over being terrified when things don’t go quite “right” in a day with customers (afraid to disappoint or anger them).
#7. I’m grateful for the kinds of people who don’t put boxes around you, who let you grow and change, who love you no matter what.
To do better…
#1. Want to not get frustrated at all (but I’ll take a brief frustration I was able to kick to the curb.
Well, folks, that’s all for tonight. Don’t forget to tune in next time for… my life story… day by day ๐. Loves and hugs,
Lift the World.
