I’m not feeling especially inspired today. It’s the end of the day, just a few minutes past 10. I didn’t get up on time like I’d planned. I tossed and turned, not really feeling tired last night, and I must have tossed and turned for a while because I was super tired when my alarms started going off, and I just chose to sleep in instead of do my dailies. 😕

I did get some of them done after getting up, so that was positive. It’s just so much harder to try to get stuff done after the rest of the world has woken up. The phone starts to ring. Parts need to be ordered. I need to tell David where to go and what to do. Everything just gets busy, and I can’t focus on the things I want to focus on when that happens.

I did get a little bit done around the house today. I got the laundry room cleaned up a little more. The nasty floor vacuumed. Thomas vacuumed the stairs. I got some coolant taken to the recycling. I feel like I got more done, but… I don’t know. I don’t remember.

It was a decent day on the work front. David did five cars. I did four (only three of them paying for me, though). And it looks like we’re already getting fairly well set for Friday, so that’s good. I’ll be taking tomorrow off like usual lately. Lots of battery jobs today. We did 3 batteries, I think. David did two, a starter, found a parasitic draw, and diagnosed a bad fuel pump. I had one battery, found a parasitic draw myself, did a water pump (turned out to be a bad pump out of the box–the bearing was bad. Ugh. The customer decided to keep it in for now anyway). And then I managed to save a lady probably $1000, as she’d had her truck diagnosed as having a bad clutch, when in reality it was just super nasty clutch fluid, I think clogging the line. I think she needs a new clutch line. But, I flushed it out a bit, and she’ll probably be good for another 6 months this way. Nice to save an older lady a bunch of money. She’s gonna have me do her fuel pump as well, which will save her another $250 over what she was quoted from another place.

So… that was the day today. I’m home, journaling. It’s now 10:20. I’m a little antsy. I’ve got some things on my mind. I’m trying to figure them out.

Oh, and if you feel so inclined, my friend Cory had his retina detach in three places (three tears), and he had his second surgery today after the first surgery didn’t take. So… if you feel so inclined, please send positive thoughts/prayers to the universe/God. That would be greatly appreciated for his sake.

#1. I’m grateful to have been able to save the old lady a bunch of Benjamins.

#2. I’m grateful to be able to go to sleep here shortly. My eyes are closing on me. I’m reminded of so many times I was writing in my journal and falling asleep multiple times during a single sentence. Less than a week, and I’ll have been at this 6 straight months without a missed day. We’ve got a few of the streaks still going. (I was sorely tempted to swear today. I got super mad at the Range Rover I was working on. Well… not the Range Rover, my the company I get my vehicle data from. For the life of me, I can’t figure out where they hide the fuse box diagrams. It’s soooooo frustrating. It should be a quick link. It’s such a critical piece of information, and I probably spent 30 minutes looking for what I needed, on Identifix (the service I use), on Google, calling another friend who has a shop… no dice.

#3. I’m grateful I haven’t yet been bitten by a brown recluse. They’re everywhere. I killed a big one crawling across the garage floor as I came in. They get stuck in the sticky traps downstairs. I’ve seen them by the laundry room. By the chimney. In my bed!!!

#4. I’m grateful to be getting better at keeping the house clean. I still have a lot of work to do in keeping my room and the garage clean. My 5x5s are doing really well with the rest of the house, but the garage… well… I guess I haven’t been doing my 5x5s for a while now. I make progress in the five minutes I spend on the garage, but I should probably make the garage a day’s project, and then start doing the 5x5s with it. There’s just… so much.

#5. I’m grateful for good food that is quick and easy to make and quick to clean up.

Loves and hugs to all y’all.
