2020-10-07 — Steady Forward Progress

Nothing glamorous today, just steady forward progress. But I like steady forward progress. 😊 And speaking of… it’s 9 p.m. right now, and I’m writing in my journal!! And that’s after spending an hour weed eating up by the barn in preparation for the pigs that the family here is going to start raising, that’s after however long cutting my hair with my shiny new clippers that came today (sooooo much sharper than my probably decade old clippers!!!), and then a nice long hot-then-freezing shower while listening to the Doctrine & Covenants. So… progress!

And now here I find myself typing while sipping my kidney bean, pineapple, banana, and red grape smoothie, wondering if the super strong tasting kidney beans would be hard to make a smoothie out of… but… nope. Doin’ just fine. 😊 Seriously, this new rabbit food diet, getting rid of the junk is giving me more energy, I think. Like I mentioned before, the desire to go work out. That feeling where the body is just like, “take me out and work me hard!” 😁

As you know, I’d already gotten rid of the sugar and junk food pretty much six months ago (I’ve had a bag of Sour Patch Kids in my work truck for maybe two weeks now… haven’t touched ’em. Just bring them in for the AutoZone people to snack on occasionally).

It’s so nice to have my self discipline returning. I’m not yet to the point where I have mastery over all my physical appetites, but I’m making… as I mentioned… steady forward progress. I’m remembering what it was like the first time years ago, after I’d gotten rid of sugar for a while, I didn’t even crave it. It wasn’t a temptation really at all. Had to dilute apple juice 50/50 with water because it was too sweet, etc. And I’m returning to that.

I like that.

Junk food tastes sooooo good. But… it’s sooooo hard on your body. Sooooo bad for you.

Anyway… tangent.

So…

#1. I’m grateful that I had two easy battery jobs today myself, and David had a decent day as well.

#2. I’m grateful for the tip the BMW guy gave me. That was nice. I could do battery jobs all day long. 😁

#3. I’m grateful for hot water and long hot showers.

#4. I’m grateful for my 5×5. I haven’t been so good at it lately, but I was able to do some this morning, and it’s really amazing how much I can get done in 5 minutes. No joke, with the “house” part of my 5 minutes, I actually have to think “what will I do today?” because there just isn’t much to do. Just a little bit each day keeps this place pretty nice.

#5. I’m grateful for my new clippers. I went and bought the cheap corded ones again. I was going to buy the cordless rechargeable kind, but the reviews, even though they were decent were like, “I switched from a corded of the same brand to the cordless, and… no… corded wails over cordless.” So… I’m gonna stick with what works. It’s worked for my whole life, so… good enough, and the head is the same as the one I have I think, so my specialty longer attachments should fit just fine.

#6. I’m grateful for my AutoZone friendships.

#7. I’m grateful that I was able to make some progress on the driveway today. Not much, but enough that I can drive over my in-progress upper speed bump instead of having to drive around it like I’ve been doing since I piled up the dirt there.

Well, my lovelies, it’s time to call it a night (and it’s only 9:25!!! Sooooo good! That was my best schedule ever, I think… bed around 9:30, up at 5:30 every. day. of. the. week. That’s the goal again, unless my body doesn’t need as much sleep as it used to, in which case, I’ll go for 10 or 10:30 and up at 5:30. We’ll see how it goes).

Off to bed. Loves and hugs to all of you wonderful people out there!

Lift the World.

  1. Fantastic! Do you have particularly delicate pigs or very poisonous weeds? Because pigs will mow down everything for you – our pigs turned their enclosures into moonscapes within a couple of weeks, and we’re talking bull thistles, blackberries, etc…they dig up the bracken ferns and makes beds of them, and they leave the poisonous stuff like tansy ragwort alone, although they grub under it to make sure there’s nothing tasty there, like mouse nests or earthworms, so those get killed off, too. Moonscapes. And y’all have serious steel and electric fences, right?
    Cheers to rabbit food!
