Would I be right if I guessed that you’re wondering what craziness I tried to drink in a smoothie today? 😁
We’ll get to that… 😉
Aaaaaaanyway, hola, my lovely peopleses,
And a happy Friday to you!!! 😊
Let’s see. I got up at 6:30 with my alarm (success! 😊). And tonight I’ll be in bed at 10:15 (success!) and up at 6:15 tomorrow morning (success!) — I promise!
Come what may, I’m gonna master this little cuerpo of mine, and no time like the present to take charge, right?
So I got up, memorized hymn #2 (success!), The Spirit of God, refreshed myself on hymn #1 (success!), and worked on re-memorizing my scriptures (success!). I’m into 2nd Nephi in the Book of Mormon re-memorizations. My goal is to finish up 2nd Nephi tomorrow, along with learning hymn #3.
Let’s see… it was really slow with work today. I actually didn’t work on any customer cars at all. I spent a good chunk of the morning working on stuff here around the house. I charged up a bunch of batteries. I put one of them in my Silverado. I went to town on a brown recluse stronghold with my Milwaukee battery-powered vacuum.
Showed them who’s boss.
Funny, though… none of the spiders I vacuumed up were in the debris when I opened up the container to empty it, so they wouldn’t be crawling around the inside of my work truck once I put the vacuum back in. (queue creepy music).
So… where’d they go?
🤔
Anyway, I also had a fun conversation with my good friend, Cory. He’s mentioned to me a few times that memorizing for him is a super big struggle, like… nigh unto impossible (said he’s only been able to memorize one scripture his whole life). But he also said it’s a struggle he wants to overcome, so I challenged him to give it a try again today. Well… he accepted the challenge, let me know when he had some time, I called him up, and we worked on one together, and guess what?
Yup. You guessed it.
He rocked it. D&C 58:27.
But you know what? We didn’t stop there. He memorized another one right after that! 2nd Nephi 2:24.
Of course, he’ll be quick to point out that he’s already forgotten the one from 2nd Nephi and that he’s not perfect anymore on 58:27, but that’s not the point. The point is he was able to memorize them.
The rest? That’s just an effective retention strategy. And that’s not hard: It just takes determination, discipline, and dedication.
Man, there are a lot of good character traits that start with the letter d.
Anyway, for today, we dub thee Cory, Conquering Cory. Way to go! 😊
In other news, I’m missing the friend that I said goodbye to on… what was it… Monday? We were so frequently connected that it’s weird to not be. But… time will pass, and so will this, and someday we’ll be back in touch. I’m looking forward to that.
So… slow work day. Yup. It was going to be a full work day for David, but his truck broke down right before the best job of the day, and I had to go rescue him again, losing the last customer in the process.
I’m not sure exactly what’s going to happen there. He’s gonna try and work out of his old van tomorrow, I think. Right now I’m just hoping to have work for him tomorrow. It’s crazy slow. Saturdays are like our busiest day. I’m not sure what’s up. I guess I’d better check our reviews and see of somebody clobbered us.
…
Okay… nope. Reviews are good. Hmm… not sure. It happens. It just hasn’t happened in a long time, and now I’ve got a family depending on me. Maybe send some prayers/positive vibes our way for his sake. I’m not worried about me, but I am concerned for him. Hopefully, tomorrow gets busy quickly. I’ve got some big jobs on the horizon, but those will be next week. We’ll see. Crossing fingers and thinking about Alma 34:24-25.
Anyway, here I am. It’s late. 10:01. Gotta wrap up quickly to be in bed in 14 minutes!!!
#1. I’m grateful to have been able to help David get his truck limped home.
#2. I’m grateful to have been able to make progress on the garage today and with my truc.
#3. I’m grateful for smoothies. Today I tried pumpkin. Let’s just say that a whole can of pumpkin, while not as as corn, not by any stretch of the imagination, still needs something more than bananas and beans. Needs citrus. Just a little bit of citrus (mandarin oranges) helped a ton!
#4. I’m grateful to be settling into my rhythm. We’re getting there–one day at a time. One success at a time. 😊
#5. I’m grateful for peace in my heart and several good days in a row. That’s soooooo nice.
Loves and hugs to all you wonderful people. Thanks, for being a part of and lifting my world.
Lift the World.

p.s. It’s 10:05. I’m gonna make it 😉
p.ps. 11,000+ steps today! Boom?!!
