2020-10-17 — Squirrel!!!

Buenas, peeps. 😊

I’m exhausted. I don’t know why, but I haven’t been sleeping well. I’ve been tossing and turning for days now. I’m loving the routine, but either my body hasn’t adjusted yet, or something else is going on.

I got up at 5:30, but I was a zombie. I stumbled around for a little bit, maybe 10 minutes before I decided to rest a little more, trying to work on memorizations with mondo fog brain and being wiped out still. Didn’t work so well. I’d nod off while trying to go through the songs in my head. Even when I got up got up, I was still just exhausted and fog brained–useless to the world 🙃. And that seems to be about how the day went.

Seemed like all sorts of things went wrong right and left. I got frustrated a few times, but I also managed to pull right back out of it really quickly each time, which is good. I think the lack of good sleep has made staying in good spirits a little harder, but I can still see progress even when exhausted, so that’s awesome.

David did I think… four cars today? Maybe three. I don’t remember. I did one. I worked out in the yard a little bit, worked in the house a little bit, worked in the garage a little bit, worked a little more on my pondering about what I personally am living for here on this earth. Hard to ponder with mega fog brain, but… I think I made at least some progress. 😊

And it’s the effort that’s important, not how far I got, so that’s success. 😊

Right now, I’m way past my 9:30 bed time, so this is all you’re going to get from me tonight. It’s 9:49. I just got home from hanging out with my buddy Jimmy. We went to look at a motorcycle he wanted to buy (turned out to be a dud). Then we did a job I had scheduled for David but that his scanner couldn’t do, so I did it. Then we went to visit one of my AutoZone friends who needed to pay for a job we did for him today. Then we ran through the Arby’s drive through and grabbed some food, headed back to his place, and just ate and chatted.

Good stuff.

Oh! I figured out why my GMC Terrain randomly got a check engine light!

Squirrel!!!

Actually, that was why. A squirrel gave me car the gift of a check engine light by being so kind as to chew through the wires for me. That’s the second time in the last year 🙃. Last time, they chewed through the tranny wires on my Accord.

Perks of living in the country 😉. Wouldn’t trade it for the world, though.

Anyway,

#1. I’m grateful to be in a good mood during a day that had lots of things go wrong while I was exhausted.

#2. I’m grateful that the Rogers AutoZone peeps didn’t freak out when I brought back like $600+ dollars worth of shop supplies (various fluids, etc.) I’ve been way overstocked for a long long long time, and since I’m cleaning up and cleaning out, I just decided it was time to take back what’s going to take me years to use up. I don’t want it sitting around making homes for the brown recluses (I think I killed two or three more today, which is about 70ish fewer than the last time I went through all those boxes, so that’s a plus. I think I’m making a pretty good-sized dent in that population.

Squirrel!!!

(the other kind this time 🙃)

#3. I’m grateful that David was able to get another full pay day on a half day of work. Hopefully, that’s gonna help him regain some energy, getting home early, more time to relax, etc.

#4. I’m grateful to be able to go to bed. Feels so nice close the eyes and crash when I’m this tired. I think it’s time for me to buy a topper for the bed I’m sleeping on. The seam in the middle (from sleeping cross ways on two beds slid together) I think is hurting my ability to get the best night’s sleep that I could get.

#5. I’m grateful that I’m easier on myself than I used to be, while still able to push myself toward super high standards.

Well, all you lovely people you. Loves and hugs. Thoughts and prayers. Bring it on.

Lift the World.
