2020-10-30 — A New Record!

Holar.

It be late. 11:04 p.m., and I’ve not been home for that long. Rolled in maybe 30-60 minutes ago and have been chatting with me mother and working on getting tomorrow figured out. There are something like 18 cars on the schedule for tomorrow.

Oops. 😶

And who knows how many more will be calling. Good gravy.

Speaking of food, I’ve got spaghetti in the microwave. Just beeped to let me know it’s done. Haven’t eaten much today. It’s been just a crazy nutty day today, too, which is why I probably ended up with a ridiculous schedule for tomorrow.

Totally crazy day today, but guess what?!?! I broke a personal record today. I put in 9.2 billable hours today! –while running the business, answering 80 trillion calls, and getting David what he needed. I did eight cars!

Wahoo!

Wish I could put in those kinds of hours every day. Well… not really. I want to retire and be done with automotive work, but… yeah… y’all know what I mean.

I also came within one billable hour of breaking the company’s best money day every, so that was fabulous. 😁 For my part, it was a diag on a crank but no start (fuel problems), spark plugs on an Avalon, trailer inspection, battery, battery, alternator, and coolant leak diag.

Tomorrow is going to have to be as good or better from me with 18 or so on the schedule. Craziness. Pure craziness.

Didn’t start the day like I wanted to. I slept in. I was up late again last night, but for a good reason, so I’m not gonna stress. Not every day is gonna go in such a way as to have my routine fall into neat little slots. So… my morning routine pretty much didn’t exist today. I got up and… I don’t remember what all I did.

I didn’t have as good of a night’s sleep as I’d hoped on my new bed. Tossed and turned. I think I was hot? And my back was sore when I woke up, which isn’t really any different than with the other bed, so… not sure there. At least there’s no seam. We’ll see what happens tonight.

So… yeah… better go to bed🙃

#1. Grateful for some good money days the last couple days that David and I have both worked. Feeling a bit like April and May these last few days, when we were breaking records right and left.

#2. I’m grateful it was warmer today. was super cold this morning, but it got to the point that I was sweating on jobs because it had heated up so much.

#3. I’m grateful the second guy had a space heater that warmed up the garage a good bit.

#4. I’m grateful I was able to do the second job without taking the intake manifold off. It took some pretty crazy fenagling, getting creative with extensions and adapters, but it saved him $80 or so dollars to do it that way. I wasn’t sure it was going to be possible, but it was!

#5. I’m grateful that I have so many tools that I carry with me. You never know when you’re gonna get hit with something unusual. I was today, and I was ready. Those odd things can be huge time wasters, but when I’m prepared. Nope. I’ve got this!

Anyway, loves and hugs, my wonderfuls. 😊

Bring it on.

Lift the World.
