2020-11-04 — Getting There ðŸ™ƒ

Well, I didn’t quite make it fully back in the saddle. I got to bed about 10, I think, so an hour late, and an hour late getting up, but inching in the right direction. It’s only 8:40 right now, so maybe tonight I’ll actually get fully back in the saddle. 😊

Got up, walked around the property for 45 minutes or so working on my memorizations. Having not been on task for several days, I’d slipped a pretty good bit, but ’tis life, and I ain’t gonna stress about it.

Had family prayer and scripture study with mom this morning. We’re doing Come Follow Me for the family stuff. Had a bean smoothie. Then I did my 5×5, re-did the fence in the back yard, so we can let Mindy (the new dog) out to go to the bathroom without having to have her on a leash, so she doesn’t take off (not that she will. She’s pretty attached to mom and doesn’t like being out of site of her. Super severe separation anxiety).

After re-doing the fence, which took a decent while, I headed out for the rest of the work day, only getting two cars done, and losing out on multiple others, but that was fine. It was actually a pretty great money day today even with me only working a “half day” (in parentheses, because that’s still probably an 8-hour day 🙃. It’s just not eight hours of car fixing.

Let’s see… so… I’m home. It’s now 9:03. By way of accountability, I’ve been doing really well on the porn/masturbation addiction end of things, continuing to verbalize what I want most when confronted with what I might want now.

Success. 🙂

Been doing really well on the other things. I’ve had a few fliers in the last few days or so, but overall, I’m not anywhere near as bad with anger as I was this spring. There have been a couple fliers that were super close to premeditated, I think. Like borderline, maybe? Still fliers, though, I think.

Still steering clear of TV and movies (though I’ve watched a few church-history based movies and a ton of documentary-type things on YouTube, as well as a handful of just fun distraction videos on YouTube). As I’ve mentioned, I’m grateful to be free of movies and TV. I think of all the hours I’ve spent lounging in front of a screen… add them up and think of what I could have done with that time.

Not to say that recreation and relaxation aren’t important. They are crucial. Just… so much more I want from my life than that stuff. So many recreation options I would rather be spending my time on–ones that are inherently valuable, and not ones that are only valuable because others participate in them, too–if that makes sense. I’ve had so much more time for the things that are of greatest worth to me.

It’s amazing how easy it is for me to get sucked into those things and waste my life away. I’ve done it so much in my life.

Anyway… grateful to be free of it. Free from the pull.

It’s the same with sports news. I’ve been mostly free of the pull. I’ve felt a few tugs here and there, one recently, as a team I used to follow quite a bit I’ve seen in headlines is doing very well.

But… you now what? Ain’t worth it. Why settle for the view from a pedestal when I can stand on the top of the tallest mountain?

So what if it takes a lot of climbing.

Bring. It. On.

So. Tomorrow. Here is my commitment to you and to me. The day will not end tomorrow without me having completed my business property tax assessment and turned it into the state, and turned in the October sales taxes that my mom helped me on.

Whoops. 9:42 😬. Was teaching my mom how to help more than she has in the past with my sales tax documentation for the state, counties, and various cities.

#1. I’m grateful that it was another really good money day.

#2. I’m grateful that David has been having lots of good money days. I’ve been charging more lately. We’ve kind of been shortchanging ourselves in some ways, so I’m trying to fix that, and I think it’s helping for both of us.

#3. I’m grateful to have been able to make progress on the yard/fence.

#4. I’m grateful to have had the right kind of coolant with me today to handle the job I needed to do. I accidentally let more coolant out than I wanted to let out, but I had enough to deal with it. Just lost money there because I hadn’t quoted for that much coolant used.

#5. I’m grateful to have my Thursday day off and to have had a bunch of good money days lately.

So… in recap… tomorrow, I’m going to kick to-do list trash. Gonna bust out a some things that have been lingering for a good while now.

But no more. They be target practice tomorrow. Bring it on.

Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.
