Holar, my lovely peopleses. Happy Monday! π
Hope things are going well for y’all. It’s 9:00 on the dot over here. I’m late because I’ve been playing around on YouTube watching all sorts of alternative energy videos–micro hydro, compost heating, passive solar heating walls, etc. Such fun stuff. One day, when I have my own place, Lord willing, I’ll be doing all sorts of stuff like this–natural heating, natural cooling, fully self-sufficient homestead. I think the heating wall is the one I’m most excited about.
Anyway, that’s a bit of a squirrel when I think about the other things I want to be doing with my life as well.
Gosh. Just one life. So short!!! I’m almost halfway through mine. π¬
Crazy.
Anyway, in other news… As of today, I’m a veggie. π Well… after all the frozen meat is eaten from the freezer, that is (I’m not gonna waste food, but I won’t be eating any more meat again, ever, unless it’s to save my life or because I’m unable to get what my body needs without it because of whatever circumstance I find myself in at the time).
I have lots of reasons that are important to me for why I’ve made this decision, and it’s not on a whim, not taken lightly at all. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It’s very purposeful and well thought out and (I believe). I’m not gonna be all preachy about it, though (Yet I admit that there’s a good chunk of me that wants to lay out my reasons and encourage others to do go veggie as well π). Anyway, it’s been something I’ve thought about on and off for a long time, and I’m finally getting to where I’ve been heading for a long time.
So, yeah, no preaching, but if you’re curious, feel free to ask me privately, and I’ll share my perspectives. π I might do so in the future anyway, but I don’t feel to right now.
18,000+ steps today. πΆ
#1. I’m grateful that though the day started out pretty roughly, it ended pretty decently.
#2. I’m grateful that the fire is keeping the house decently warm. The furnace peeps didn’t call us back today, which gives me another day to think about doing the new furnace valve myself. A family in Pea Ridge (the town just next to us where my niece and nephews go to school) had their house explode because of a propane leak just a week or two or so ago. It’s a little nerve racking to think of putting in a propane valve, but… it’s also pretty easy honestly. So… what do you do? Whoops. Gratitude…
#3. I’m grateful for so many fabulous resources for learning. YouTube can be such a great resource.
#4. I’ve chosen to stay away from news sites (again). I’ve left them alone in the past because… well… they’re rarely uplifting, and the “news” tends to be, in my personal view, just a bunch of twisted versions of “facts” designed to satisfy what their intended audiences already want to hear. It riles up and… yeah… Whoops! Gratitude. π Anyway, I’m grateful I was able to stay away today. I caught myself multiple times wanting to go to them, and it’s not a bad thing or anything, but it an be for me personally, not just in the bringing me down but also in triggers for porn addiction crap.
#5. I’m grateful to be making more and more progress in the yard and the house and whatnot. The daily 5×5 really is making huge differences still. Today in the house, I actually was wandering around trying to find things to do (I don’t have the same troubles in the garage or my room or outside or in my electronic cleanup, but the house is pretty clean). My room would be as well, if I would ever remember to do it as part of my 5×5. Used to be the first of the 5x5s, and since I switched to doing it later, I just about never get that one done. I might just put it first again. Yeah… executive decision. It’s first now again!
Well, my lovelies, it’s time for bed. Loves and hugs to all you fabulous folks.
Lift the World.

Vegetables!!! Yummmm!!!
I’m working on it. Still lots of food storage to eat up. Don’t want to waste it, and I haven’t figured out the vegetable thing yet. Fruits are easy, but veggies are a bit more complicated.
