2020-11-23 — Gratitude Week, Day 2

Hiya, my wonderful lovelies. 😊

Guess we’ll dig right in:

#1. I’m grateful for sleep and for my new bed. It’s not the best, but I’ve noticed (I think, at least) that my neck doesn’t have the same little pain it used to have if I looked straight up. Weird. Not sure what’s different, but the new bed seems to be helping there, and I’m grateful. I’m grateful that it’s soft. I find myself smiling on a regular basis when I climb into it. 😊

#2. I’m grateful that I live in a place of quite remarkable peace. I know we’re in a bit of a rough patch in some ways as a country, but I’m grateful for the incredible peace and safety we have here relative to many other places around the world (and granted there are plenty of rough places within our borders as well) where parents worry for the safety of their children through the night. Where war and terrorism and awful things are so much more common than where I’m privileged to be. Where some of my concerns include having more work than I know what to do with and having not enough room in the fridge for the mountains of produce I’m privileged to have at my fingertips.

Goodness.

#3. I’m grateful for God. This morning I started the workday with only one job on the schedule for David, and it wasn’t close to him. I’ve been trying to avoid working on Sundays, and I knew that, at least theoretically, in my business, if you don’t answer the phone a given day, you’re going to be hurting for work the next day. But, I want to give more attention to the God who I think is giving plenty of attention to me. So… this morning, facing a cold, nearly empty schedule for the day, I offered a prayer and said something like, “Lord, I’m trying to not work on Sundays, if it’s okay, would you mind having people call, so I can get work for David, and if it’s okay, can you have them start calling early this morning?” Well… the phone rang off the hook, and I had so many calls that David was slammed with work, tomorrow is mostly full already, and Wednesday is pretty much slammed. The phone rang off the freaking hook today. All told, I think there were around 50 work-related calls, including both incoming and outgoing (not exaggerating) today. Could always say it’s coincidence for sure, but I’m happy to give God the credit.

I’m tired. And I’m grateful.

#4. I’m grateful that Mindy has been softening toward me a lot lately, not running away, more comfortable around me. Good stuff.

#5. I’m grateful to have caught Mindy in the act of peeing on the carpet today, rushing her outside so quickly, she left three little pee spots on her way out. A couple more of those, and hopefully, she’ll be house trained. 🙂

#6. I’m grateful to have lots of happy customers. I haven’t followed up with customers in a few weeks and sent out a bazillion texts tonight and have gotten back loads of texts from happy customers. 😊

#7. I’m grateful for people who have learned/done things that I don’t know but that bless my life, inventions and philosophies and organizations and how-to stuff and whatnot. Solar walls, vegetarian eating help, compost heating, car repair videos, motivational videos. So many great things.

#8. I’m grateful for people who buy new things, so that eventually I can buy them used.

#9. I’m grateful for my mama for always working so hard to be such a great mama.

#10. I’m grateful for good friends. Had an old friend who now lives in Kentucky message me. Haven’t connected with him in years. Was cool to hear from him.

#11. I’m grateful for what this online journal keeping has done to be a blessing in my life, helping me move forward with my life so much more effectively than I was before.

#12. I’m grateful for all y’all, for your comments, encouragement, love, support, etc. 😊

Well, folks, loves and hugs to all. 🙂

Lift the World.
