2020-11-24 — Gratitude Week, Day 3

Buenas, peeps. Hope y’all have had lovely day. I’m tired and burned out and overwhelmed and… bring it on. 😁

#1. I’m grateful that my finger seems to be healing well. One stitch, came undone, but the swelling is way down. I’m optimistic that maybe I can be back mostly functional next week? That’d be fabulous.

#2. I’m grateful to have been able to be dry on a rainy day. Currently in a major storm with tornado possibilities. I do love me my storms. 😊 Hoping the hail doesn’t come, though. Too many cars outside with no cover. 😢

#3. I’m grateful that I’m starting to get a better hang of this business stuff. I’ve spent so long worrying about charging too much that I really have done a disservice to myself and my workers. I’m finally starting to figure out that, you know, we’re worth it.

#4. I’m grateful for quick adjustments in attitude and perspective. My friend Cory pulled together a group of people on a text conversation group of like-minded people supporting each other as we strive to become the best that we can be, and one of them shared something about facing life’s challenges that I appreciated. I always like short, meaningful phrases that encapsulate whole ways of being, and the one that was shared by one of the group members was one to say after things feel like they’ve kicked your butt, after you feel you’ve lost a battle, so to speak. I think it came from a video game? Or Larping. That was it, I think, Larping: “Thank you, sir/ma’am. May I please have another?”

I love that. It perfectly encapsulates the idea that what I really want is to grow. And, yes, I might have lost that round, might have fallen on my face, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to face the challenge, even if I lost this time, and I want another crack at it, because I’m going to overcome at some point. So… Thank you! May I please have another? 😊

#5. I’m grateful for Thanksgiving thunderstorms, despite the possibility of hail and tornadoes. I’m still grateful and just am in awe of the shear amount of water that comes down at once. It’s nutty. It’s fun.

#6. I’m still grateful for fire wood. Keeping the house relatively toasty. Gonna be a colder day tomorrow, and the firewood is wet, but… I think we’ll be okay.

#7. I’m grateful for fingernail clippers. They’re so convenient. My nails are getting long, and files and other means of trimming nails can take a really long time, but nail clippers. Genius.

#8. I’m grateful for visionary people who aren’t afraid to fail or who face their fears and are willing to fail. I don’t know him personally, but I love the passion and drive of Elon Musk. The, “yes, we can find a way to do it” attitude. The “we can change the world” attitude. I love that seemingly passion and vision that some call naive, foolish, unrealistic. To heck with what’s realistic, I say, reach for the freaking stars!!! 😁

#9. I’m grateful for adjustable-speed ceiling fans. Helping to spread the heat around the house without being too windy.

#10. I’m grateful for gratitude. It can be a game changer. 😊

Loves and hugs, mon amis (is that plural?)

Lift the World.
