2020-12-19 — Time to Rest

I’m wiped. I’m fighting off the second iteration of this last bout with my mystery disease. I went to bed with it, woke up multiple times during the night with it, and fought with it until probably maybe 1:30 or so this afternoon. I was fine from 1:30 until about 5 or so when I started sliding back down again. I started getting bad again about 8:30 and have been trying really hard to arrest the crash. I’m feeling semi-successful at the moment, but I’m still messed up for sure.

So… I’m wiped.

It’s 9:21. I worked later today, not even leaving to go work until probably 4:00 or so, having spent the morning playing secretary, and then spending an hour or two in the woods working on the trail, tangling with poison ivy (cross your fingers I managed to not get any oils on me), and chopping vines and dead trees and dead branches down all over the place.

Then it was to the grocery store, buying more foods to help in the transition to the vegetarian/vegan, whatever I am becoming. I bought a bunch of different “milks” today–another soy brand, another oat milk brand, some almond milk, and some poison cashew milk (yeah, I’m a glutton…). Bought some super firm tofu, veganaise, imperial margarine, avocados, grapes, frozen poison mangoes, sweet potatoes, and other stuff, too. What I need to do next is buy a second refrigerator. 🙃 We are quite lacking on space, even after removing all the things from the refrigerator that don’t need to be refrigerated (quite a large number of things don’t need to be refrigerated that people tend to refrigerate thinking they need to. Heck, we do so many things thinking we need to because it’s better or healthy or… yeah… brushing with toothpaste example… not needed for clean, healthy teeth. Water and a toothbrush and floss do just find. Just don’t leave the fresh taste in your mouth. Washing your hair every day… yeah… not even good for you.

Uh… tangent?

🙃

Anyway, I only did two quick jobs today, and both were late, like 6:00 and 7:00, respectively, or whatever they were. Bad battery diagnosis and an alternator replacement. Then home. The driving probably took longer than the jobs themselves… which… is a nice thing, honestly. I mean, it would have been great to have them close to home, but it was nice to have two quick jobs to end the day.

So… please send positive energy and/or prayers Cory’s way. While he’s been busy lifting me, he’s been doing so while going through some pretty hard things… and that’s an understatement.

#1. I’m grateful that it’s about to be Sunday. Sooooo looking forward to the day off.

#2. I’m grateful that though I’m fighting off the second iteration, I’m not really bad right now. I’m hoping it’s staved off. We’ll see. I’m exhausted, which probably has as much to do with my condition as anything.

#3. I’m grateful for refrigerators, that we can buy food and store it and not have to go to the market every day, trying to eat our food before it spoils because we have not cold storage.

#4. I’m grateful to even be able to look forward to the feeling of my head on the pillow. So nice. I just hope the migraine goes away. I can feel it starting to come back as I write this.

#5. I’m grateful for the many wonderfully educational YouTube videos that there are out there.

Well… it’s time to crash. 9:44. Late but better than yesterday.

Loves and hugs. Thanks, ya’ll, and g’night!
