So… y’all might be proud of me. I’m mostly taking the next week off. I’m only gonna do super easy stuff like battery jobs, of which I might have one tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ve been telling customers, ain’t gonna be available until next Wednesday. Which… according to my forecast was supposed to be 42, so I thought it would be good, but the other forecasts are saying high of 30… so I might not be so thrilled if it turns out to be the latter, but… whatever.
Point is… I’m taking it easy. 🥳
So… what did I do today? Uh… not much! I… slept in… studied, played in the woods, cutting up lots of felled logs. It’s 9 p.m. right now, but I have a hankering to run out there and… do more, so I might do more 🙃. In the frigid weather. In the dark. With my headlamp. 🙃 In 19 degree 93% humidity weather. 😶
That’s why it feels so freaking cold right now. 93% humidity.
Good gravy.
Anyway, oh, how I wish I had my own piece of property to work on. I’m actually chatting on Facebook right now with a real estate agent about a piece of property in Prairie Creek. Half an acre for $8900. A little piece of heaven like this one. I look, but… land I can afford is so far away, at least in any reasonable quantity. I can’t see myself with fewer than 100 acres… and I don’t have that kind of cash right now. Unless we’re talking the nasty desert nasty of the west where land is pennies an acre (exaggerating, but yeah).
Moving on… well… actually, that’s pretty much all I’ve done today. 🙃
Feels nice.
Gonna take it easy for a little while. I mean… I have tons of paperwork, taxes, etc, to do, so… I’ll be working still, but today was a nice free day, and I’m gonna keep it free and easy for a little while. Just little piddley jobs.
#1. I’m grateful for warm clothes.
#2. I’m grateful that I was able to get Thomas’ car back up the driveway. Everything is covered in ice, and the traction control had to be turned off and had to get a running start to go up. This is my first real ice storm in Arkansas. It’s fun to walk through the woods because the ice shatters everywhere, and you can see every step you’ve taken because it turns white from shattering the ice.
Fun. 😊
Love this place.
#3. Grateful for everything sandwiches–peanut butter, jelly (almost used up the last of it), banana slices, apple slices, raisons, and carrots. Mmmm mmm. Good.
#4. I’m grateful that Mindy is warming up to me a bit. She normally doesn’t want to be anywhere near me, but a couple times over the last few days when something in the house has scared her, she’s come over and sat down or laid down next to me and let me pet her. That’s progress. She’s been good for me, I think. Good for me to practice patience and empathy, sympathy, compassion, etc.
#5. I’m grateful to be sober today. Since January 30th, I believe. Rock on. Feels… longer. But I’ll take it either way.
