Tired. Chose to sleep in a bit. Didn’t get up until 6:30. Needed the sleep. Gonna be late again tonight. Almost 10 already. Long day… just over booked myself with all the pile up. I’m getting better, but the pile up… hard to balance so many cars that backed up… I’m mostly ok until things take longer than they’re supposed to. 🙃
#1. I’m grateful that I was able to have a bunch of stuff delivered and to return a bunch of stuff without having to go to the store. That’s nice.
#2. I’m grateful that I found a way to change the starter on an ’08 Jeep Grand Cherokee without pulling the drive shaft off. That was cool. It’s been a job I haven’t liked so much because of the need to pull the driveshaft to get it out, but… today… I figured out how to slide it out through a tight little slot. Wahoo. 🙂
#3. I’m grateful that I had enough containers with me to catch all the oil from my last car. I was going to see why the car wouldn’t start, and I always check to see if it’s got the right amount of oil, and it was way overfull. I drained out a quart, and it didn’t make much of a difference. I drained out another, same thing, only small drop in the level on the dipstick. I drained out a gallon, and it was still reading way over full. I worried that something was up, wrong dipstick… maybe this was an engine (there are a few) where you check the oil with it running. I drained out another quart, and it was still over full. Finally, I just said to heck with it, and just drained everything out the was in there.
12+ quarts. 😶
That engine full is six quarts. They had over twice the amount of oil in the engine they were supposed to have. I’m not equipped for oil changes, so it was rather a challenge to get it all drained and stored so I didn’t have oil sloshing around and spilling all over everything in the Durango.
Anyway, grateful I found enough containers. Apparently, during the last oil change, the oil people forgot to drain the oil–just added another 6 quarts. Lucky the motor didn’t seize up.
#4. I’m grateful to have had food with me. The day went long, and I had taken a little time to bring food with me, so I wasn’t too bad. I wasn’t great, but I wasn’t too bad. 3 apples, two oranges, and two grapefruits. 🙂
#5. I’m grateful that I was flexible this morning (sleeping in. choosing health over routine.). I don’t want to make that a habit, but I was in a bind, not of my own doing yesterday, and I just needed sleep more than to keep the routine. Today is a little different story. I could have been in bed maybe about 9:30-9:40 had I not stopped to vege a little bit.
