Having said yes to so many people meant a busy day today. I did seven cars, didn’t get home until after midnight (partly because of a battery acid spill in the Durango and on my person.
Whoops.
I managed to find myself trying to go through a red light, after having stopped for it, then proceeding through as though it were a stop sign, but catching myself after about 5 or 10 feet, slamming on the brakes, sending the batter flying forward, crashing into the center console (which it smashed in a bit), and sending battery acid all over the place.
Lovely.
But… I got seven cars done and was only a 15 minutes shy of 10 billable hours today, so that was something. Maybe a new personal record? I guess that’s something if I’m gonna work a nutty day.
Gonna be another busy one tomorrow. It’s 3:30 a.m., though, so I’m gonna sleep in. First things first.
No start diagnosis (battery), valve cover and wiring job (one cruddy thing about Toyotas is that they last so blasted long that by the time something goes bad, it’s been on there for… ever… and it’s a pain to get off. The rubber valve cover gasket had actually turned itself, after 300,000 miles, into brittle plastic. It was cooked on, and it shattered like plastic. 🙃
Took me like three or four hours to do that job. Should have been like an hour.
Yeah.
I still love Toyotas, though. 😊
Then it was a no start (blown battery fuse). Then a starter (he bought the wrong one). Then a no start (battery). Then a starter. And finally a leak/smoking issue (which they said no one could figure out, but it took like 15 minutes to figure out. Just needed to put a pressure tester on the system, and boom, sprayed coolant all over from the heater control valve. Wahoo.).
Then battery acid glee on the way home. Glad the officer didn’t pull me over.
Then… dinner, watching YouTube car videos, looking at the PurpleWave.com government auction that’s tomorrow. Might by a few things. We’ll see.
And… that’s that. I’m heading to bed. Good night, all. Loves and hugs.
Lift the World.
