2021-04-06 — NO Spiral, Thank You, Very Much.

I was successful! No spiral! Wahoo! 🥳

That’s something. 😊

And I stopped working before dark today. 🙂

That’s more… something. 🙃

I’m gonna make this quick, so I have a better chance of getting up earlier than I have been. I’ll focus on the positive today. Gonna try and make a habit of that a good bit more. Cars went decently well today, and I might have found an employee? Maybe? Might not have. We’ll see.

First job had to give bad new. Blown major internal mechanical issues with the motor. Not fun for him. I’m grateful it was a quick diag, though. Next one was a bit more of a challenge. it was a battery replacement and a coolant leak diag. It, too, turned out to be an expensive issue. Water pump leak, and on that one, it’s a major ordeal–major ordeal, but I was able to figure out the leak, and that was good. It was really hard to find. Really hard, but I did, and I’m grateful. Next one I couldn’t reproduce the problem, so I tried to help with another issue she was having, and I think she was happy. Last one… I don’t do oil changes, right? But this lady who’s afraid (well, maybe the people she was living with more than her) of Covid didn’t want to go out to get an oil change and had three cars that needed oil changes, so I gave in and did it for her. People don’t understand that mobile oil changes are a lot more involved than what happens at Jiffy Lube. But I got them done okay. Not as bad as the last one. Last person didn’t reply, but I was only a few minutes away, so I stopped by, and he’d had another mechanic come out because I guess he wasn’t getting my messages. I stopped in to help, and the other mechanic was still there, and I confirmed the diagnosis for him (blown head gasket), and we all shot the breeze for like an hour, and the other mechanic that was there is the guy who I offered a job to. We’ll see if he’s interested. Would be nice to have a good guy working for me. Seemed like a good one. And he can do big rigs as well.

Anyway, then home, dinner, and here.

#1. I’m grateful that I was able to move forward without spiraling. It was a little tough in the morning, but I did it!

#2. I’m grateful that I was able to have relatively light day and that all the jobs down south were ok being moved to tomorrow.

#3. I’m grateful to have the Durango still doing well.

#4. I’m grateful that my little digital luggage scales came today and that they’re relatively accurate. I’m going to use them to check my torque wrench accuracy. Then I’ll be ready to do the timing chains on my Terrain.

#5. I’m grateful for all the reminders that my electronic devices have.

We’ve got this.

Love y’all. Thanks, for your support through this little life of mine.

Good night, all.

Lift the World.
