2021-04-07 — Meh?

Meh?

That’s about how I feel about today. 🙃

It’s been a very… not memorable day. Work was ok. Not bad, not great. There was an absolutely lovely massive downpour for a handful of minutes that I enjoyed thoroughly. Three cars today, 4 billable hours. Last car I did turned out to be really easy, and they gave a nice tip on top of that, so that was great.

Thomas got another flat tire today, and his rim was so welded to the hub that none of the normal tricks for getting wheels of worked. In the end, blocks of wood and a very large sledge hammer from underneath got it done. Amazing how strong the bond can be with metal just adhering itself through oxidation or whatever it is that does it.

It’s just after 10:30. Dentist and crazy busy day tomorrow, but I’m starting to get a handle on things. I had a foot-long veggie sub while waiting out the rain, and I spent that time digging out from underneath the pile of customers I needed to get back to. So that’s finally done, and it feels great. The result is a lot of cars to fix, but now I’m on top of things, so it’s going to be easier to slow down because I know what’s on the list, and I can plan better now.

#1. I’m grateful to my mama for bringing food when we met up to try to get Thomas’ car figured out. I’d taken care of myself, but my body was wanting still more food.

#2. I’m grateful to my mama (again) for knocking one of the items off my to-do list for me. Thanks, mom!

#3. I’m grateful to the people who were understanding about me not getting back to them in any timely manner from days past and long past.

#4. I’m grateful to have plenty of work. Once I’ve caught up and taken care of all those I’ve promised to take care of, then I guess I’ll take another stab at slowing down–not scheduling more than 4 billable hours a day. Cross your fingers.

#5. I’m grateful to be in bed earlier than I have been in a while. It’s just before 10:45. I’m gonna try and get up at 6:30 tomorrow. It was 7:30 today. Crossing fingers here, too.

Nighty night, folks. Loves and hugs.

Lift the World.
