Holar. It’s been an interesting day today. 🙂
I had a bit of a challenging but ultimately really positive conversation with a dear friend of mine last night after journaling. The convo lasted until after midnight, so I was late to bed, but I think really good things have already come from it, so that’s been cool.
Had another nightmare. Kind of weird. I don’t remember dreams almost ever, and now two nights in a row… nightmares. That’s… interesting. Not sure what that’s about.
What else… I was just… dragging today. It was really hard. Just totally burned out, almost non functional. I chatted with my friend Cory for a good while. That was really good. He’s such a great support for me. (Thanks, Cory!)
I spent a lot of time scheduling and looking up quotes, but I just… I couldn’t work on cars. I don’t know what it was, but I was just… done. Unable. Incapable. Non functional.
So… I canceled the jobs I had, passing them off to other companies and trying to gracefully bow out. Fortunately, I’ve been telling people that I’m really busy, so I haven’t been setting many firm appointments, so it’s been easier to push things off.
That was good, I think (canceling jobs). I was just… burned out. I had driven out to work on cars, but then I just spent hours at the AutoZone in Bentonville before turning around and heading home. 🙃
Once home, I worked on the trails for a couple hours maybe, my Hill nephew Stevie coming over to help with the trails for a bit, and we chatted about a bunch of things.
After that, I headed inside, and I opened Facebook Marketplace, and there was a Bobcat 773 skidsteer at what seemed like a really good price, so I… did it again. I bought another piece of equipment 😁. I went with my Hill brother Jim, who was kind enough to go with me to look at it late night, and I put a down payment on it. I’m gonna bring it home tomorrow, list it for a handful of thousand more than what I paid for it, and then start renting it out, I think. If it sells for the price I list it for or close, great. If it doesn’t, it’ll perhaps be my first foray into the rental market. We’ll see. 🙃
The transition from mechanics to Heavy Equipment… We’ll see how it goes. If it goes. If it’s best Feeling things out.
Interesting times. Trying to invest responsibly and effectively.
So… there you go. I’m feeling much better now. I’m tired, but I’m doing better. I’m a little distracted, so I apologize if this is disjointed. 🙃
#1. I’m grateful to Hill-brother Jim for going with me to look at the skid steer. It was a 40-minute drive each way. Plus probably about that time there. Thanks, Jim!!!
#2. I’m grateful that I was able to push off all those jobs today.
#3. I’m grateful for the rain coming in. Gonna be a big stormy day tomorrow. Flood watches. Fun. 😊
#4. I’m grateful for opportunities to help others.
#5. I’m grateful to have multiple functional cars, so I can choose which ones to go where.
Loves and hugs, my lovelies. Much appreciated.
