2021-05-10 — Pray for Chrysti Et Al, Please

Hiya, folks,

Happy Monday. 🙂

Head hurts. Sort of a repeat from yesterday, I think. It’s been a busy day–really busy, and some unhappy news as well.

Let’s see… I slept in a little bit feeling the way I was. Then I did a 5×5! 🥳 It was only one of 5, but hey, it’s progress. 🙂 I chatted with Mr. Big Shot for a bit. I studied a little bit. I bought socks and insect repellant. Hydrated myself. Ate breakfast, and headed out to work. I didn’t get to the first job until around 11? And I had a bunch to do, but I worked hard and got lots done.

Car #1 (btw, writing about the cars I’ve worked on is helpful not just for yacking about my day, but I can also go back in my journals to figure out stuff I need for my business, so it serves multiple purposes… which is nice.

Anyway, car #1: No start. Hadn’t started in over a year. Battery was toast. Fired it up with the jumpers. Alternator also toast. Replaced battery and alternator… 2000 Chevy S10 4 banger. Oh, and I did an alternator on one of these a month or so ago, and I had an awful time with it, and I think one of you mentioned that

Car #2: Crank, no start. Turned out to be a bad fuel pump. Ford Explorer Sport Trac. 1999? Gonna come back another day and do the fuel pump on that one.

Car #3: Motorhome. o, I’m not supposed to do motorhomes. I shouldn’t have said yes. Old man. Said yes. Fortunately, I think it was just a battery issue. The engine battery was fine, but the house batteries were very badly drained down with battery acid leaking out the top. Nasty little things.

Car #4: Overheat… turned out to have a cracked overflow tank and a leaking hose. 2013 Buick LaCrosse.

Car #5: Crank no start, 1999 Ford F150 5.4. Crank, no start… turned out to be another Ford fuel pump job to do.

Car #6: 2001 VW Passat. Poor idle, poor power. Air intake hose was basically completely off, and most likely has a bad camshaft position sensor.

I tried to eat between cars 3 and 4, but I realized that the peanut butter had mouse droppings in it, so…. after careful consideration, I decided to forego having peanut butter on my whole wheat tortillas and simply had them plain. Customer #4 gave me a couple of bottles of water, and that was nice., but I didn’t get food like I needed to today while I was working.

As a result…. headache. Brain no worky.

On a much more important note, my Hill sister Chrysti was life flighted to Springfield, MO today with blood clots. Lots of ’em. She’s gonna have some procedures done that should save her life. Pretty…. rough times on the hill over here.

Prayers/happy universe thoughts appreciated.

Love to you all.

Lift the World.
