Let’s do a gratitude day. I could use one of those. 🙂
#1. I’m grateful that though I was severely lacking in sleep (couldn’t fall asleep last night and didn’t until about 6 a.m. or so, and I needed to get up at 8), I managed a fairly upbeat day nonetheless. Granted, I went down for a nap about 9 for 2 or 3 hours, but still. I had my moments (patience is a much scarcer commodity even sleep is lacking), but I did pretty well.
#2. I’m grateful that I was able to help Landon with his goats this morning. It really is fun to start actually feeling like I live on a farm. We are using the goats as our lawn mowers right now for the grass up by the hay barn.
#3. I’m grateful that I was able to get a good nap today, mostly because I haven’t been loading myself down with way more cars than I can handle with work.
#4. I’m grateful that I am able to return things to AutoZone that I’ve bought from a long time ago. I’ve taken quite a bit back in the last week, thousands of dollars worth of parts, I think. It’s not that I’m making any money, but it’s still changes the amount in my accounts. 🙃
#5. I’m grateful that I’m getting better at dealing with things when I screw up on jobs. It used to feel like the end of the world, but now I’m just kind of like, oh well, I’ll deal with it, it’ll pass, I’ll get it figured out, etc. That’s happened a few times lately, and I’ve just rolled with it. I was discouraged today on a job for a little while, but not very long before I just rolled with it. (A fuel line that I had disconnected got stuck back on the line as I was pulling the tank off the truck, and kinked the hardened plastic fuel line badly). I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to finish the job because of it, but I finished the job, and I simply let them know what happened, and told them that if they ever had issues with it, that I was good for it. I’ve had to do that a few times lately, but it’s been great.
#6. I’m grateful that AutoZone had a new fuel sending unit lock ring. The one that was on the fuel pump was super super rusted and nasty. But they had one in stock, and they delivered it to me, which I’m also grateful for.
#7. I’m grateful that I have been able to take care of a few little things that have been nags for a little while. Last night I was able to solder my battery tester and fix that, and today I was able to fix my battery-powered vacuum. I got my van a little better organized with things in more effective places, etc.
#8. I’m grateful that I was able to finish the fuel pump replacement job today. Though it didn’t go perfectly, it did go decently well.
#9. I’m grateful that though my fluid transfer pump was not working, I was able to list the fuel tank that still had about 17 gallons of gas inside of it, put it up in my van, and gravity siphon the fuel out into the four five-gallon jugs that I had.
#10. I’m grateful that I was finally able to make progress on the driveway today. It didn’t come until after 10:00, or whatever it was tonight, but I was able to go out there and rake off, well, right to the side, the loose gravel and rock that has been causing issues since I tried to redo the driveway with the wrong material. So, we’ve got a good bit of gravel piled up on the sides, and when we get more dirt, clay I guess I should say, to patch up the unevenness in the driveway, then I can rake that gravel back over it to press down into the clay. Anyway, grateful for progress there, is that’s been a problem for the last few weeks or so.
#11. I’m a day late on this one, but I’m grateful for grocery delivery. We’ve had it twice now, and it’s really nice to have them do all the shopping for us come out, deliver the stuff, etc. It’s really really nice.
#12. I’m grateful for showers. I came in from working on the driveway and nasty sweaty mess, but a quick shower, and I’m good to go.
#13. I’m grateful for the little needles that I bought. I was able to drain my knee again today. I had an issue like this on my shin years and years ago, where I was kicked the machine so hard that it kept swelling up with fluid. I did the same thing, got needles and would drain the fluid out of my shin periodically. Eventually, it just stopped filling up with fluid and went back to normal. I’m hoping my knee will do the same thing. But I’m grateful for the needles, and I’m grateful that round two was a lot less nerve racking than round one, just stick the needle in.
#14. I’m grateful that Thomas had some rubbing alcohol and that there was some antibiotic ointment available. I wanted to drain on a Saturday night so that I could keep it clean easily on a sunday.
#15. I’m grateful to have a gratitude journal day.
#16. I’m grateful for my support people. I’ve been struggling a lot the last several days, as y’all know, including many relapses in my addiction, but I feel like I’m turning a corner today, and I thank y’all for your support.
I feel like there are more things that I should be writing about today, but my brain is blank. Probably lack of sleep. 🙃
Loves and hugs.
Lift the World.
