2021-07-22 — Not Too Bad

Yesterday kicked my butt a bit. Today, gratefully, only had a few frustrating challenges. First car was just a battery job, and I taught his kids about the car while I diagnosed and fixed it. They were super interested, and the dad enjoyed it as well. That was fun. I miss teaching. Love explaining things in ways that are both understandable and exciting.

Second car was an overheat diagnosis. Looks like it was the radiator cap, but I’m not 100%.

Third car… that was… well… wait… went to the assessor’s office and tried to turn in my amended 2019 return (I was going to owe more money), but they said it was too late and not to worry about it.

That was nice. 🙂

Then on to the junk yard in preparation for the third car, where I was able to get the parts on needed for it. The third car kicked my butt a bit. It was finishing up that fuel pump job from the other day that got cut short because there was a busted part that needed to be replaced, and I had to get it from the junk yard because Chevy didn’t make it anymore.

Fourth car was supposedly an alternator, but I got there, and I knew it wasn’t the alternator, so that saved him $600. I like saving people money. I took care of one issue he had, but that didn’t solve the other, so I’ll probably go back tomorrow to finish the other.

After I got home, I spent probably 5 hours working on tax stuff. 🥳 That’s… not fun, but it’s progress, and it’s really good that I actually did it. So…. there you go. It’s 12:19. I’m really tired. I’m making some progress.

Time for bed.

Oh, I’m grateful the fuel pump lady let me shower with her garden hose. Her driveway was covered in dirt, and I was soaked with sweat, so I was… muddy. I sprayed my shirt off and rinsed myself down because I was… a dirty mess. 🙃

G’night.
