Making some progress internally today. Still struggling a lot, but there was a marked change today.
I somehow got some strength to press forward in some things and be more determined and even a tad bit more positive. That’s been nice. Still struggling with being quick to anger when things go sideways. I’ve got a long way to go, but… today was progress in some areas, and I felt and noticed it.
I’m repeating myself.
Anyway, I gathered up all the Prizm wheels and tires that I had lying around, and the few Subaru Outback tires as well and set them back behind the Rogers AutoZone and put an ad on Facebook for people to go get them free.
End of an era in some ways. No more Prizms. I’d toyed with the idea of getting another one for nostalgia… but odds are pretty slim, and these tires have been sitting there for… years now. So… bye bye tires. Unofficial, but likely, end of the Prizm era.
Goodbye, my favorite cheap model ever.
I might be buying another car tomorrow… We’ll see. I’ll let you know if I do.
Anyway, got those taken care of this morning. First job was a starter on a 2000 F350 7.3 diesel. Did that, and he gave me a pretty good-sized tip. That was nice. Second job was another diesel, the Isuzu box truck that’s been on my to-do list for… seems like ever. But it’s off now. Yay!
Just… two more hangers left? Don’t remember for sure, but I’m whittling down the list.
Only did three cars today. The last one was another diesel, 2006 F350 belt replacement. Another diesel. This was the same truck as last week where I did all the work only to find out they’d gotten the wrong belt. Today… was an even unhappier end. I put the right belt on, but I noticed the harmonic balancer wasn’t quite in line with the other pullies. And I noticed it wobbling a bit when it started up, and then it started shredding the belt right away.
Bad harmonic balancer. Looks like it’s coming apart. 😬 That’s twice now that I’ve tried putting the belt on only for something to go wrong and leave the truck still unfixed.
😕
I guess… yeah…
Anyway, that was the third car. I came home, and mostly I’ve been working on tax stuff while listening to classical piano music. Really making some positive progress today on tax stuff, and that’s… wonderful. I’m gonna bang this out, get this done. So much to do, but… I’m gonna dig in and just get it done. I’m grateful for the strength today to push off the other distractions at least a bit and get somewhat organized and going. I’m working on 2019 tax stuff now. I’m going through all the transactions to make sure I have everything accounted for.
Positive progress.
And… tomorrow I might just, for the first time ever in my life, buy a car that I actually want want. I… don’t think I ever have, really. Not a dream car. I’ve only ever bought practical stuff. But tomorrow… maybe I’ll break string and get something I’ve wanted ever since I first saw one.
Oh… the suspense. 😉
Well, best be getting to bed. Might be making progress on stuff, but sleep is still critical.
G’night, folks.
Love to all.
