Long day and almost nothing to show for it. Construction equipment started arriving about 7:30, so i left about 8 or so and just headed out to work.
First car went fine (just a lookover on a 2010 Accent they’d just bought). Second car went fine. Diagnosis for an overheat and no start on a 2011 Malibu (low compression… motor done 😕).
3rd job was a nightmare. 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan rear brakes, including wheel cylinders. Ugh. I went through three wheel cylinders. Leaking out of the box, and the brake line started leaking, too.
Ugh. I was there for almost 5 hours and didn’t get almost anywhere. It’s apart and clean–on only one side. 😶
Yeah.
Fourth job was going well until I realized I had the wrong part. Ugh. There were two alternator options, one for cars with California emissions, and one for the rest. I had the gentleman send me a picture of the sticker under the hood. Clearly said California emissions, so that’s what I bought.
Nope.
Pulled out the alternator, and it was a federal emissions alternator.
Great.
So that was the work day. Gratefully, the last job said it was cool if I came by Monday instead, so I went home, was able to park at home (since they won’t get to our part of the road until maybe Monday?).
Came home and found out that mama’s car overheated, so I diagnosed that (bad radiator fan). It’s late. I’m tired. Pretty behind with a thousand things. But I’m alive.
Time for bed. Goodnight, folks.
Lift the World.
