No records today. Not even close. Sort of a crummy day, honestly with every job pretty much going sideways.
Oh well. 🙃
Three cars today. 1992 Ford F150 coolant leak at thermostat housing. If she weren’t a long-time customer, I’d stop doing this truck. Old cars = lots more time to fix (generally). They’re just old and dirty, and stuff is harder to take off and clean up, and it’s worn out, etc. Anyway, put in the new thermostat housing only to find out that the new housing leaks from the bleed screw and the radiator is cracked and leaking as well.
Lovely.
Second car was a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, no start. Wiring issue. Turns out there’s a short in the system. Looks like it’s most likely the TIPM module. After spending 3 1/2 ish hours at the first one-hour job, I spent 2 1/2 hours at the jeep before finally throwing up my hands because it was so late and saying “this is where we’re at. You have a short in circuit A106 with a B2101 corresponding code. The majority of the time, this code is caused by a short in the TIPM module. I bypassed the issue, so the Jeep could start, but i couldn’t let him legally drive it because he had an interlock device, and it’s a crime to bypass that. So… he has to wait for his interlock guy to come back out and turn the interlock device back on, and then I’ll walk him through how to bypass the electrical issue, and hopefully the interlock device will still work.
Third job was supposed to be just replacing parts that they bought, but as happens all too often, I get there, and now they want me to diagnose it, which wasn’t accounted for in the quote I give them, and that makes for an awkward conversation because now they’re asking me to make sure that their guess is the right answer before I put in the parts. I ended up just doing the diagnosis. Bad battery and won’t start because the ignition lock cylinder housing is locked up. Need to call the dealer tomorrow to figure out parts.
I’m. So. Tired right now. I forgot to mention one of the things that made yesterday so amazing as well was that I got started late because I was at the tire place getting two new tires and an alignment until like… 10, so that amazing workday was all accomplished after the morning errands.Â
But… I’m also tired from getting up early the last several days to get out before the workers get going. I’ll do that again tomorrow morning. I need to leave by 7:30 in order to get out before the workers dive back in with all they’re doing on the road.
Trying to work on tax stuff, but there are so many issues figuring out old numbers. Data is missing (AutoZone has no record of many of the labor claims they paid me, so I’m… not sure what to do there. Can’t find any record at all of them. So that’s slowing things down. I’ve got 9 days to get 2019 and 2020 done. So… I’m running and gunning.Â
Eyes are closing, but I’m trying to get at least some progress on the tax stuff.
Anyway, there you go. Time for bed. Love to all.
Lift the World.

Hello, brother,
I hope you ate today. You might recall that you didn’t eat much of anything yesterday or Saturday… Keep up your strength! You deserve it! So much love to you, Stephen!!! And your call yesterday (?) was a big highlight of my day, by the way. It was so wonderful to reminisce about Hungary! 🙂 🙂
