2021-10-11 — Two More Buckets

So… I… bought another thing today. A big thing. A rather expensive big thing… with a long arm and two more buckets.

This morning’s purchase was a 2016 New Holland 30b mini excavator. 😁 A bit of a step up from the one I already have. I’ll probably put that one up for sale maybe? Not sure yet. But it’s one more piece of equipment to add to the arsenal of equipment to rent or do excavation operations.

Super good deal, and as it turned out, when Jim went with me to look at it, we both found out that the seller was someone Jim used to work with. Jim got there before I did, and they were just shooting the breeze. When I got there, Jim was like, “You don’t have to worry about that machine. He takes really good care of his equipment.”

So… that was encouraging. It was super tight. Good machine, it seems. So, now I have two. 🙃 Deal was so good I couldn’t really pass it up. I mean… I could, of course, but… no. 😁

That was a fun way to start the morning. The afternoon was pretty crappy. I spent like 5 hours on a job I wasn’t able to complete and referred out. Ugh. Only charged him $50, and I probably used $20 worth of materials, so… that one was pretty much a bust. Second job went relatively well. I canceled the third job, and I’m taking the rest of the week, through Friday, anyway, off to do taxes. Cross your fingers. I’m really trying to get this stuff done.

I did make some progress today on that. The Rogers AutoZone store did find some of my labor claims, so that was something. I’m waiting to hear back from the state people about what to do with my poor records.

It’s really a huge mess. So much time and effort trying to get this all straightened out. So. Much. Time.

But hopefully, pray it’s true, that I’m on the home stretch with light at the end of the tunnel. I’m gonna sleep now and wake up and tax all day tomorrow. And Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday. Hopefully, I’ll be ready by then.

Ugh. So much to do. Stressful work.

Could use some positive universe vibes.

On the bright side of things, connected with multiple people today–an aunt, a step brother/step sister in law, a sister, a brother. Those were the important things about the day today.
