I’m discouraged today, folks. Really hard to be positive. I want to make a difference for good in this world, but it’s hard to feel like I can, honestly. I’m watching what’s unfolding everywhere in our country, and I’m just… 😕.
I’m sad and discouraged.
I don’t want to be, but I’m struggling so much in my own life that today it’s just… it’s a rough day. I know I’ll be back to optimistic at some point, but ugh.
Maybe I should stop reading the news again. I don’t trust the news anyway… I feel like the media and our politicians just want to stir stuff up for money and power, but I don’t know that for sure. Just seems that way. Hope I’m wrong.
I want to be informed, so I read news sources from all sides of the political spectrum. And it’s pretty… discouraging there, but even misleading news lets me know at least what the rhetoric flying about is saying.
And our country… things are… crazy. And it’s hitting home pretty hard right now. For one, I. Can’t. Hire. Anyone.
Barely anyone even applies. One person a month, maybe? And generally with no experience at actually fixing cars. I’m offering great money. It’s the same story seemingly everywhere. No one wants to work, apparently. Gazillions of job openings, but few people actually willing to work even though we’re still at loads of Americans not working. And if the rest of the country isn’t like northwest Arkansas, though I believe it is from what I’ve been told, then move to Arkansas! We’re flush with job openings but tight on people to fill them.
Why can’t we fill jobs? I’m offering great money. Businesses are offering huge signing bonuses. They still can’t hire. Why? I have my theories. I won’t share them because they’re just guesses based on what I think and don’t represent any actual data. And… not wanting to be a part of the problem of ranting without accurate data, I’ll keep my mouth shut. What I know is that there are plenty of jobs available, tons of them, and good paying jobs, but they’re not being filled for whatever reason.

I agree that reading/watching the news can be quite discouraging. Take a break! I have to from time to time. I’m actually on a break at the moment, so I am blissfully unaware of what’s going on. I recently relocated across the country and now live tucked away in the backwoods of the Ark-La-Tex area and it has not only been a welcome change of pace, but also a much needed one! Keep doing what you’re doing, you are definitely making a difference out there in ways you likely don’t even know 😊
