A happy happy birthday to my wonderful mama today. 🙂 She turned 29 …again.
Go, mama!!
Day started off in a bit of a panic. Slept in. Woke up to an emergency call from a customer who’s car I’d fixed yesterday. He’d been chatting with me while I was fixing his truck (just replacing an alternator), and apparently I got distracted with the conversation and forgot to plug in the voltage regulator connector to the alternator, which of course left him stranded again, but not just that, the connector plopped itself onto the exhaust manifold, promptly melting itself to the manifold.
Lovely.
So I scrambled out of the house, gratefully found a store that had a replacement pigtail connector, drove to where he’d broken down, spliced in a new pigtail, and he was on his way.
After that, I did three additional cars–a battery job where the lady took nearly 30 minutes to come outside after I told her I’d arrived, a pre-purchase inspection for a 2015 Subaru Forester (car seemed pretty decent, no big red flags), and a water pump on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0.
The last guy didn’t have the money to pay what I’d quoted, so I knocked off a pretty good chunk to get it in the realm of what he could pay. That last job took quite a while.
Cross your fingers, I think Miguel might have my GMC Terrain sold. He said they’re coming in the morning to pay for it, so I need to bring the title over.
Got my mom an apple cinnamon pie and a grab bag of a bunch of different vegan foods to mess around with. Hopefully, it’ll be fun to experiment with for her.
The new towels I bought to replace paper towels and sponges came, and they seem to be great so far. Cross your fingers. Progress toward a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Lift the World.
