Hola, folks! After being up until after five with my internal gas production machine running well past overdrive (sometimes, it felt like I single handedly could reduce energy costs in the US if they’d just tap into my wonderful Apricot goodness.
😬
Feeling much better now, gratefully. No more apricots for me, thank you very much.
I slept in until after ten today, and I actually felt pretty good (not groggy, even though I only got 5 ish hours of sleep). For whatever reason, going to bed way late and sleeping until I wake up has always done me better. I need less sleep that way, but I don’t get as much… done? I don’t get much done when I stay up late. So… overall, it’s better for me to have my set schedule of going to bed early and getting up early. But it is nice sometimes to wake up not groggy.
As for today, I headed out to my first job fairly quickly after getting up because I’d told him it would be getting him taken care of in the morning, and he needed his car, driving 1000 miles a week delivering pharmaceuticals. First car was a 2015 Mazda 6 4 cyl that had a broken belt. As you know, a broken belt is nearly always caused by another issue. This time, gratefully, it was just that I think it was probably the original belt with 150k miles on the car. So that was good, despite it being a pain-in-the-butt belt to install.
After that, I headed over to my buddy Miguel’s shop to borrow his engine hoist. He wasn’t there, so I decided to help him with the cars he had to work on, diagnosing one of the cars for him. While i was there, I had a potential customer who was wanting a wheel bearing put on his truck. I guess he’d gone to Firestone and waited for four hours before finally leaving because no one had even looked at his truck. So, I was able to get him taken care of, fixing it in Miguel’s parking lot.
So I did just the two cars today, picked up the engine hoist from Miguel’s, got a flat tire on the way home, and got to use my new tire that I’d just bought to be my spare. I hadn’t had a spare for over a year since I got the van, and within a week of finally buying a spare tire, I need to use it.
🙃
Guess I’ll go buy another one tomorrow.
As soon as I got home, before I even went in the house, I pulled out the engine hoist, and pulled the engine out of my Ram 1500. So… it’s out now.
Wahoo. 🙂
If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll get the new engine at least in my truck tomorrow?
Cross your fingers. I have some cars to fix tomorrow as well.
Beastly hot. It’s gonna be low to mid 90s for the next two weeks at a minimum. Ugh. Yuck. Beastly hot.
Love to all. 🙂
