I’m not really in the mood to write today. Didn’t really do much. Walked the creek again with my mom and Mindy. Gathered metal to take to the scrap place to hopefully get my engine back. Put a pretty good sized dent or three in the top of my trucks bed trying to load some heavy pieces of metal into the back of the truck. I drove over to the metal place, but there was no hope. No sign of anything.
So… smashed truck bed now and still no engine. 😕
Got the wheel put on the golf cart for my hill sister.
And i actually did go out and work on a couple of cars (2 cars, one customer). First one was a 2008 Saturn Vue that was a no crank, no start. Checked a bunch of things, and in the end, I think it’s an issue with either the ECM or the BCM, electrical issues that were potentially black holes for me having to chase down wires and voltages until who knows when.
The customer’s goal was to see which of the two cars was going to be easier to fix, and the second car was just an oil leak, so I figured that one was going to be the one to fix and keep (that, and it was a Lexus, and I’d take a Toyota product over General Motors junk, hands down). But the Lexus ended up having like 260,000 miles on it, and the oil leak turned out to be a really expensive one–front main seal, which is a four-ish hour job, and requires all the timing stuff be removed, so… that’s for a shop to do.
Anyway… It wasn’t a bad day today. It was actually decent, but I’m still sliding downhill again. 😕
