2022-07-29 — The Beginning of Goodbye

It’s been a beautiful day with family today, spending the day with aunts and uncles and cousins and my mom and others. Telling stories, talking about taking trips together. It’s been great. 😊

Have had some beautiful experiences with my dying aunt. My cousin and I ran to the store to get some things, and I grabbed some popsicles, and we came in to give my aunt a mint, and she saw our popsicles, and her eyes lit up and got super wide, and so we got her a popsicle, and she took a bite or two. It was so awesome 😊

Love this lady. Gonna miss her.

It’s getting close. The apnea periods are getting longer, I think. 35-40 seconds each right. Then a few breaths, then another apnea period.

I’m tired.

Another nice thing that happened today was that the car that seemed to be a blown computer, wasn’t.

Miguel did some additional digging (hours of it), and he managed to find an issue in the wiring where if he pressed on a certain spot of the wiring, things would work/stop working.

That was really nice to hear. The whole problem, including the fan turned out to new that whacky electrical issue.

I didn’t think I did anything to cause damage. I’m a terrified mechanic, always worried I’m gonna mess something up, so I’m generally super careful, OCD about getting everything just just right, and very careful.

So it turned out the issue was that all along, and just by moving the wires and fuse box to do the testing, I exacerbated the existing issue.

So, I’m not gonna make anything from this job. I’ll lose a little bit because I paid for the tow and whatnot, but good news is I’m not on the hook for messing anything up, I just got a weird electrical issue at 8:30 p.m. that was more than I had time to figure out before flying out, but I did nothing wrong, and now my customer knows it, too.

I’m really tired. I’m sitting here at my aunt’s bedside watching her breathe. Wondering if I should sleep or stay up.
