2022-07-30 — Rest in Peace

As I sit here in my car on the side of the river road between Bridalveil and Upper Falls in Provo Canyon, ready to call it a night, I think about how it’s been a good while since someone I have known even somewhat well has passed, but today we said goodbye to my beloved adopted aunt who has been just an absolutely wonderful human being and a light in my life.

Though her body went through many of the normal stages that bodies go through before death as they begin to shut down, honestly, and gratefully, she passed with what appeared to be very little discomfort or distress.

Tears were shed by every family member and even one of the overnight aides who was there with us.

It was both a very sad but also a very beautiful day.

In her own words not too many hours before passing, she said something like the following. “My life is ending, and my life is beginning.”

Rest in peace, Aunt Leti. We love you.
