I don’t really have much to say today. I didn’t sleep much last night on the floor of the Salt Lake Airport. I forgot to bring my sweatshirt and sweatpants (airports and airplanes often being cold, as I’m sure you know, so the cold made it even harder to sleep, but I think I got a few hours overall).
I tried my tech out again on his own for a job, but he got it wrong again, and I had to go down and rescue him. It was a very long day with lots of things going wrong–on every job. My tech messing up the first and me having to rescue him and basically start over after he’d already spent hours on it. Second car was an alternator job. He didn’t want me to diagnose it first, so we just put it on for him–turned out to not be an alternator issue. It’s some electrical issue that is keeping the alternator from charging. Had other stuff to do today, so we didn’t stay to try and figure out the issue. Last car was just an oil pressure switch, but the tranny mount was in the way, so you couldn’t tight it properly. I tried and tried to torque it, but the sensor just kept turning again and again. I finally, just stopped, not wanting to strip it (I’d already backed it out once thinking I might be stripping it, but it was fine), but the second time, it just kept turning and turning, so… I called it as was. I’m guessing it’ll be good. They’re going to watch to see if it leaks. It was an awful, easy job. So easy to get to, so… impossible to properly tighten.
It’s after midnight. I’m tired. Very tired.
Good night.
