2022-08-04 — Soggy

Hiya, folks!

It rained! And rained! And rained. 😶 Three-ish inches, I think, in this last round of storms; but Malaki needs work hours, so though I normally would have taken the day off and rested, I went out and worked with him. Just two cars, but a relatively full day.

A soggy day.

First car was one that had been driven through deep water and died while driving. 😬 Sound familiar?

Unfortunately, so was the result. After spending quite a while going through several systems to get all the water out of the engine and various intake hoses, when I went to start it, it sounded like it was low compression… So I pulled the plugs back out, did a compression test, and… it was very low compression. 😕

Poor guy. 2018 Chevy Cruze that now needs a new motor. 😕

Next vehicle was a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the common death wobble that the Grand Cherokees were famous for. But this one had bad shocks, bad sway bar links, bad tie rods (all 4), and bad tires. And the most common issue that causes the death wobble, the steering stabilizer shock, is likely bad as well, so he needs a bunch of stuff. Not sure which will solve the death wobble. It probably could get away with just the stabilizer shock, but that’s just a guess. With so many things bad in the suspension, he really just needs to get them all fixed.

That’s expensive, unfortunately. But they’ll do it bit by bit.

My… sweet tooth is begging me to be satisfied right now. 🙃 I’ve fought it off three times now, maybe more. It’s 11:07 p.m., so I think I won. Stores are closed. So… 🥳

Bought Microsoft Office today. Needed it to get the dictionary edited for my Modern English project. Need to get back on that project, now that things are settling back into… normal.

Well, folks. Time for bed.

Hope y’all had a great day.

Love and hugs.
