Little me be tired. 🙃
It was a slow Saturday. Inflation is really taking its toll. I’ve never had so many customers choose not to have our help because of prices. It used to be that here and there I’d have a customer think something was too expensive, but right now, it’s like half of people.
It’s crazy, because our prices are really good. But… inflation is killing people. It’s hitting hard. I noticed it today when I bought some groceries. My coconut milk half-gallon cartons have been like $2.47 for a long time. Today? $3.87. I just bought some last week, and I think it was the $2.47 price. Since last week, prices have gone up over 50%.
Holy. Crap.
So, it was a slow day. I did two cars. Malaki did two cars. Then we chatted for a little while. I headed home and worked on getting wood chips for weed barrier for my mom. I took my dump trailer and skid steer out to do the job, but the effort was mostly a disaster. Once again, the brakes wouldn’t work, even after being checked out by the trailer place.
The result was my nearly going into the ditch multiple times as the trailer started dragging me down the gravel road even with my truck brakes on. It was pretty freaky–really freaky.
Gratefully, I was able to get down without anything getting damaged (well, my poor transmission was the only thing I could get to hold me several times, and it… wasn’t good.
Anyway, it took a long time to get the wood chips. Overall, I think I spent like 4 hours trying to get everything the dump trailer loaded up and dumped.
Eyes are closing. I’m so exhausted. Not sure why. Had a pretty unhappy morning body wise. I ate something that didn’t agree with me last night, so maybe that took it out of me a little bit.
Anyway, after 4 hours or so and many many challenges, we now have an entire dump trailer’s worth of wood chips dumped out by the garden.
I’m not telling much of the stories today because I’m about to crash.
I’m tired. Very tired. Eyes… closing.
G’night. 😊
Love and hugs.
