Hola, my peeps!

Happy end of Sunday. 🙂

‘Nother busy day on the hill over on my end. I woke up late because I guess I slept through my alarm or turned it off last week for Sundays, so it’s still turned off. 🙃 So I didn’t even get up until like 9:30.

Been a while since I’ve slept in a good bit like that.

Anyway, I got up, ate a little bit, and then I headed down to the deck area and started cutting back all the overgrown brush that’s crept quite a ways out over the years. I cut back quite a bit. Driving all with the lawn mower, plowing into blackberry thickets, tearing my little arms and legs and back and head and whatever else to little shreds with all the thorns.

It’s amazing how far skin will stretch when hooked on thorns. 🙃

I also realized, probably far too late, that I was likely plowing through a ton of poison ivy, so I’m likely to find myself a bit… itchy for a good while. Crossing my fingers that the bath I took in the creek after realizing my likely encounters will spare me the joys of the little red blisters.

Is what it is, though. We’ll see…

In other news, I had a business meeting with my nephew today about starting a tree service arm of my company, and he’s all on board. He’s gonna ask for a big raise tomorrow (which would put him in the average he’s supposed to be getting paid for the work he’s doing [he’s been significantly underpaid for years at the job he’s at]), and if they don’t give it to him, he’ll give his two weeks notice, and he’ll go all out with the tree business. I’ll be providing the money and the business structure to get it going, and he’ll be the business builder.

I’m getting closer to that with my auto mechanic business as well. I’ll be training Malaki in the next little while to run everything, and he’ll be running the mechanic show while I’m gone on my trip, and hopefully, Stevie will be off and running with the tree stuff while I’m gone as well. We have a month and a half to get both set up and going.

🤞

I’m also leaning more strongly toward buying the acreage across the road. It’s not my first choice at all, but it’s here and available, and this is an area with great opportunity. My opportunities, should I move back to Utah, would be significantly more limited in providing an income for myself that would fund my other pursuits. I also… don’t know that I could handle feeling claustrophobic all the time living back in the suburban rat race. Gosh it’s just… soul draining.

I miss my mountains, though. A lot. A lot a lot.

And I’m not too keen on the humidity, ticks, and chiggers and all the other not-so-lovelies out here, but… I’m here, and opportunities are plentiful, and our little airport is decent for getting places.

So… there you go. Things are gettin’ crazy!

Love and hugs.
