Well, so far the poison ivy is confined to one silver-dollar-sized patch on my right leg. π₯³
I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that’s the extent of it, but… odds are I’ll have more. The best thing, though, is that I don’t have any on the more sensitive parts of my body. That would have been the first to break out.
I did, however, have to work in my dress shoes today, as all three of my other pairs of shoes were poison-ivy risks. π
That said, I didn’t work much (at least not fixing cars… I spent a ton of time with other work stuff). It was an odd day trying to figure out how many jobs to leave for Malaki, so I didn’t short him for the day. It’s a bit of a challenge. We could just both go all out every morning and work until all the jobs are done, first come, first served, but then he might find it noon with no more jobs to do, and I’ve promised to give him enough work to take care of his family.
So… it can be a huge challenge to schedule things, as I have to do a ton of juggling and holding back from working myself to make sure he has full days but having to stay right on top of it, so we don’t lose jobs who decide they want to see if someone can get to them faster.
It’s quite the balancing/juggling act.
I’m still learning and improving the way I do things. Malaki and I worked on a handful of cars today, but we had a bit go sideways–gratefully, not too sideways. Some communication breakdowns caused a bunch of the issues. I’ve got to be better in communicating what needs to be happening.
Anyway…
My nephew put in his two-weeks notice today, and I started buying equipment today. So… the tree-service stuff is on. π¬ It’s getting real.
I also tried to get some information today about getting a construction loan. I struck out, 0 for 2 with the two banks I went to (they didn’t have a loan officer available at the branches I went to).
And if I didn’t mention it, there’s a nice little Z4 in Texas that I am interested in… it’s… the right color. π I’ve enjoyed mine, but it’s also been a stress, another project, so I’m thinking about buying this one and selling the one I have. We’ll see.
Change is coming… a little quicker now.
After work, I helped Liz and Mike up the hill a bit, and then I hung out with Jim and Steph for a bit, just talking about life and things.
I leave for the big NZ in a month and a half!!! ππ¬π₯³π πΆπ
Gonna be quite the adventure.
Well, folks, it’s time for bed. Almost 1 a.m., and I didn’t mean to stay up this late!
Love and hugs.
