Getting going a little earlier than usual today. It’s just after 10. Been a busy day. Phone rang off the hook. We did 9 cars. I did 3. Malaki did 6.
Super funny… I told him tomorrow was going to be crazy busy, and he looked at the schedule and was like “only 5 cars?”
(five cars for him, four for me… so 9 on the schedule, just like today, but some of those jobs are longer jobs, and that doesn’t take into account the jobs that will almost certainly be added tomorrow. I’m scheduled for a minimum of 8 billable hours tomorrow. Malaki is scheduled for a minimum of 6, so… it’s gonna be a super busy day either way.
How cool would it be if we could get 20 billable hours in one day. That’d be… nutty (and rather unrealistic, but hey, we can dream, right?) 🙃
Anyway, so heating up again fast. Hoping it stays hot, so I can work on hiring more people for Malaki to run the business with. We’ll see. Crazy times.
What else… uh… I spoke with a loan officer today from another place and found that I can get an 80/20 land loan through them (the specialize in farm loans). That would be super good. It’s the 35% that’s been the biggest killer for me in thinking about buying a big chunk of land. Paying 35% down would make me completely cash poor. Don’t want to spend everything I have to get the land and then have no cash left.
That’d be… bad bad bad.
Almost have a final version of the non-compete ready for Malaki to sign, so that everything will be all set to train him in every facet of my business. Then he’ll get a chance to run it for two months while I’m gone, and that’ll give him a good understanding of whether or not he’s going to want to buy it.
I might end up suggesting that he buy in to the business. We’ll see. He’s probably gonna read this, so I guess that’s out of the bag now. 🙃
Life. It’s… doing stuff.
Well, folks… I’m gonna head for bed. Things are drumming on and a bit more positively at the moment. Lots of nerves, but it’s nice to see some of the things I’ve wanted to see happen begin to happen.
