Hiya, folks!
Happy Tuesday to all y’all. 😊 It’s been a pretty jam-packed day today. So much going on as always, but a good bit different today. I was up early, as always, readying for the work day for Malaki.
I chatted with my nephew Austin for quite a while. He’s my new roommate for the next month+, and that’s gonna be super cool. 😊
It’s been a good day! I was able to get both my new junker vans registered and insured. I realized that I’ve been insuring one of my other cars for the last 6 months after selling it, so I’ll probably get a couple of hundred dollars back after I send them a copy of the bill of sale. That’ll be nice.
I got extra keys made for my new vehicles.
I got more stuff ordered for the tree business–today’s purchase was a rigging rope. So far we’ve purchased a climbing rope, climbing harness, rigging rope, a bunch of rigging and harness equipment, a helmet, wedges, etc. Next up are the most-expensive purchases–two chainsaws. There’s the tree saw, the one the climber takes up into the tree, and there’s the ground saw. Together those will be about $2600 for the pair after tax.
(gulp)
But, they’re investments. Life is full of assets and liabilities. I try to buy assets, and these are some. Hopefully, the return on the investment will pay for the equipment fairly soon. It’s most important to me to make sure that my nephew is taken care of, so every month, the first of all the money we make will go to his salary. The rest of the money will go to paying off the equipment the business owns, and anything leftover will be divvied up between him and me, one percentage of the profit for him and another for me.
It is beginning. 🙃
I’m also going to be meeting with Malaki sometime this week about the future of the business. His thoughts on buying it, other options that there might be, such as having him just run the business for a greater salary and greater opportunity to make money and expand his experience and talents in a fairly safe manner. We could also possibly partner, having him buy into the company.
We’ll see. I feel like maybe I’m getting closer to being able to spend all my time trying to help the world in the ways that I feel could make the biggest difference.
Cross your fingers, folks. Cross your fingers.
Chatted with my brother in law about possibly working for me fixing cars or doing trees. He’ll get back to me in a couple of days or so.
Was supposed to order several truckloads of rock for the driveway today. Didn’t quite work out as I totally forgot while getting my new work vans registered. I was going to call to order while waiting at the DMV, but then the DMV didn’t take very long, and I totally forgot. 🙃
Whoops!
I did a bunch of paperwork for the business. I got things organized so that Austin can be here with a place to stay. He’s in my room as I write this on a mattress that came with one of my junker vans
A pretty new mattress actually.
Poison ivy update: I think after a really bad morning, I think I finally turned the corner. My left foot is so swollen that the outer skin layers have started sloughing off a bit? But turning the corner, I think.
Cross the fingers again. 🙃
I didn’t fix any cars at all today. It was different business stuff today. Lots and lots of stuff.
It’s good, though. Cool to have my nephew Austin here. We’ve had some good talks, already.
Good day.
I’m lonely today, too.
Talk to me, Goose.
Love and hugs.
