We woke up on the side of road yesterday again with the Sun beating down through the windows. Fortunately the wind was nice, so with a little bit of strategic window covering, we were able to sleep a little bit longer.
After finally getting up, I tried my hand at making oatmeal via engine cooking, and that actually worked decently well.
Unfortunately, the last few days has brought a significant resurgence of my stomach issues. It’s probably been longer than the last few days, but it’s been so bad these last few days that none of my medications are doing anything to help. Or if they are, it must be that the issues would be a heck of a lot worse.
To be fair, I haven’t been doing very well at taking the pills, as it’s been really confusing for me to know exactly how to take them, and I haven’t been doing very well at eating foods that don’t exacerbate symptoms. I started googling to see what foods I could and couldn’t eat and realize that I’ve been eating lots of foods that weren’t good for stomach acid issues.
But even the efforts that I’ve made to change my diet over the last several days haven’t yielded any good results, and it doesn’t seem to matter what I eat, I end up with stomach and chest pain. It lasts pretty much all day it seems like. And if these issues were caused by stress in the first place, the concerns that I have over my health right now, certainly aren’t helping at all. I’m not so worried about my shoulder and ribs and hip and everything, as I figure those will sort themselves out hopefully in time, but this whole stomach thing has me rather concerned, and I think that’s exacerbating the symptoms as well.
(sigh)
Add that to the stresses I’m feeling with stuff that’s going on with my businesses at home, and I just sort of want to take a vacation. Except.. I’m on vacation. It just doesn’t really feel like it, honestly. I mean it does and it doesn’t. Don’t know how to really explain all that right now. Or I guess better said come I don’t really want to take the time to try and find words to explain that right now.
Anyway, the drive all the way across from the west coast to the east coast didn’t really have much of anything that seemed to be in our wheelhouse for the types of vistas and landscapes that we enjoy, so I pulled up a couple of different places that supposedly had some cliff jumping spots, thinking those might be kind of fun, but both were a bust.
So we took the long way over to the little place on the East Coast where they have I guess the longest place name in the whole world. It was kind of a white elephant type stop on the trip, as all you really do is go take a picture with the sign common there’s not really anything else to see or do, but still, those kinds of things can be fun here and there.
By that point, it was something like 8:00 at night, so we pointed the car toward Waihi Falls and decided that would be our ending point for the day.
We got there after dark, got the back ready for sleeping, watched an episode of the Expanse, and crashed for the night (after killing a gajillion mosquitoes that had come in while we had our doors open to get some relief from the heat).
And there you have it! I’m all caught up!

Love and hugs. 😊
