2023-02-26 — No Battery, No Dice

Sunday rest day!

Or not. 🙃

There was a BMW 750Li for a screaming deal price down in Springdale that I was interested in, so I headed out first thing in the morning to go take a look at that, but when I got there, it didn’t have a battery in it, and they wouldn’t let me hook up my jump box to it because they said it was going to pop up with all sorts of crazy codes and what not, and they were afraid I was going to think it was a bad car.

Well, I’m not about to buy a car that’s got all that kind of warning stuff anyway, even if it’s a screaming deal. I have enough project on my hands already. 🙃

While I was there, I had somebody call with a busted car in Fayetteville, and he was all but begging me to come, so I relented and went out to help him. Him. Turns out he had two different issues. His car wasn’t starting, so after he had done a bunch of research on Google, he came to the conclusion that the issue was his brakes switch, so they replaced the brake switch, but the car still wouldn’t start. That’s when they called me to go out there and diagnose it. Fortunately for him, the only issue was he had a bad battery. So I got the car started for him, and tried to send him on his way to get the battery, but when he tried to drive away, the car wouldn’t move.

I didn’t realize that, so I had already left, but he called me to come back, and I came back and found that they had installed the brake switch improperly. Fixed the installation, and they were good to go. What had happened was they had installed the brake switch in so far that it forced the break pedal down and kept the brakes on, which meant that when he put it in drive, it wouldn’t go. 🙃

After I got home, I headed over to chat with one of my nephews who is going to be doing some work for me. I’ve got lots of things on the to-do list that aren’t getting done because I’m working so much, so I’m going to pay him to send down this ugly little work van of mine and rest stopper on it and then paint it.

I’m also going to pay him to do other odds and ends that I need done. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement, so that’s nice.

😊

Most of the rest of the day was spent with me pulling out and reorganizing the stuff that My hill sister who passed away last year had been keeping it at our house. Ever since before I moved to Arkansas, about a third of the room that I stay in has been filled with things that she was storing here for the future.

Sadly, it never came for her. 😕

But I pulled it all out and reorganized it such that it’s a lot easier for people to go through it if they want to.

So… That was the 26th (I’m writing this on the 1st of March, just like I did yesterday’s entry as well).

Gratefully, the stomach acid ulcer issue thingy has been improving again. Going back to the bland diet. This might end up being a fairly long-term change. I’ll probably have to figure out how to get all the nutrients I need.

🙃

Love to all. 😊
