Today… I just couldn’t get myself going. 🙃
It was raining pretty good–flood warnings and all that.
I did two cars first thing, both super easy, gratefully. Replacing a mass airflow sensor and a no start that turned out to just be bad battery connections.
I hung out with the people at AutoZone in Bentonville for 2 or 3 hours or so, helping out with things in the store a little bit, and then I finally was just like, you know what? I’m going home.
So even though the rain had mostly died down by then, and I could have gone out to fix more cars, I was just… done.
I think that’s one of the challenging things about working in a job where the more time you put in, the more money you make. There’s no shift to be over. There’s no project to just be done and finally completed with nothing else on the horizon until Monday or whatever. You could just keep going, and going, and going, and going.
Anyway, I came home and spent a good little while cleaning up the driveway. My mom comes back in less than a week from being out of the country for a few months, and with my hundred hour weeks, I’ve sort of left the place an absolute disaster. So I’m trying to get the disaster back under control before she gets home. Or at least… improved.
Was nice to make some progress there. I caught up on a few posts, as you’ve noticed, and I went to bed relatively early. 🥳
