I’m exhausted.
Gonna write more tomorrow. I’ll give a quick summary before I crash. I keep falling asleep.
Not quite with it.
I don’t have any trouble falling asleep (gratefully), but I’m waking up and wide awake way too early. I think I went to bed after midnight last night, but I woke up at 5:00 something again.
Not sure what the deal is.
Wanted to be productive, though, so I got up, and I did some business stuff. I got some bills paid that have been waiting for a little while for me to get around to them.
Chatted with my friend Cory from Utah for a good little bit.

I spent a good chunk of the day outside. During the last family meeting, the idea was brought up of having a little list of things that we is members of the hill family clan can do to help take care of the property here. One of those things was gathering up the branches that are all over different parts of the property and bringing them up to the burn pile.
There were a lot of branches down by the front fence because I cut back a lot of the trees last year, and I left all the branches on the ground. So I drove down, after hooking up my dump trailer to my truck, to the lower fence, and I loaded up all the branches that I had cut last year, hauling them up to the pile and unloading them.
I spent some time working on trying to get the spider lift figured out, but I realized that my nephew hadn’t bolted down the battery cables. He’d just put the batteries in their slots.
I had expected him to wire everything up. Oh well.
The problem was that I didn’t know how to wire them up myself. I had taken pictures of how to do it, but which of my three phones did I use to take the pictures? Did I even still have them?
I spent quite a while trying to figure out how to wire up the batteries because I’m just not familiar with six volt systems and how to wire stuff together in parallel or series. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do for this spider left.
Anyway, I eventually gave up trying to find information on the internet and trying to find the pictures on the phone that I had with me. I ended up heading back up to our house, lighting three of our stumps on fire with the hopes that I could burn all three of them down relatively simply.
One of them I think is going to be a success. The other two, likely not.
I’m so tired that I’ve fallen asleep while I’m writing this–multiple times. 🙃
I spent a few hours or so de-vining the first starting with the woods next to the mailboxes, and I made a pretty significant dent in the vine issue that we have down there.
There are so many vines that they choke out the trees and just generally look pretty bad, honestly.
I’m crazy exhausted.
So… I’m going to bed. 🙃
I hope the amount of poison ivy I get to enjoy is less than what it could be. I’ve been all around it for a good chunk of the day.
