I know I’m not totally done with working for now, as I have some leftovers, but there are lots of things going through my brain right now as I prepare to transition.
The prospect of zero income and only outgo, even though I have saved up a decent amount of money, is not a fun prospect. But what a privilege it is to be able to take a month off when I need to take a month off and to not be financially strapped because of it.
As I prepare to take the time off, I am looking for means of income that doesn’t require me to turn wrenches or exert my body in ways it’ll keep me on the injured list.
I’ve applied to work for JustAnswer.com. I have no idea what kind of money can be made via that service, but I’ll find out. I have an interview on Thursday, and I guess we will see how it goes, if they want me, and if they want me, do I want them. 🙃
I’m also looking into what it would take to set up a pay for chat or pay for call service of my own. I may not be able to work on cars myself, but I can certainly help people over the phone. I do it all the time anyway, might as well get paid for it to cover the ongoing bills while I’m out of commission.
And also in preparation for heading out, I’m trying to tie up as many loose ends as I can. I’m going to try and get one of my excavators sold, probably going to try and sell my little Z4 sports car, try and get one or both of my vans sold, etc. Try and get my old trailer sold. Try and get the house cleaned out, and all my stuff consolidated to be ready to move when the time comes.
