It was another tax day today, once again spending most of my day gathering information for my accountant, and answering questions.
I didn’t do much else.
Of course, first I woke up from my little spot by the creek, and then I climbed the hill back to Jared’s.
Then it was time for taxes. All day.
Again, as with yesterday, it was fun to interact with my accountant, and we laughed, and i cracked jokes all day until we finally got finished with the s-corp portion of my taxes.
Once we finally got finished and tried to submit the taxes online, the IRS sent a rejection notice saying we’d already filed.
Lovely.
Since I hadn’t authorized any return submission, we knew it had to be fraud.
Good gravy.
Apparently, the MIA accountant filed a placeholder return without my permission (the return requires my signature of approval).
So I messaged his daughter in law, who was the accountant I’d used before, and I guess she called him, because she texted and said he’d be calling shortly.
He did call, and he got me the information we needed to be able to amend the previous placeholder return he’d filed.
It was a bit of a frustration after another long day of taxes, but we eventually got the s-corp returns properly submitted.
Exhausting day.
Still have personal taxes to do, but those aren’t due until October 15th, though we’ll finish them much sooner than that.
I think we did dinner after that, and then I crashed.
