Happy Saturday!
I slept in today. I think I didn’t even get out of the van until maybe even after 10:00? I don’t remember for sure might have been nine something. But it was quite late. I had stayed up pretty late writing journal entries, so that contributed to falling asleep late and thus, sleeping in.
I ate some breakfast. I think it was plain mini wheats with mango chunks and soy milk.
After that, it was time to dig in and start making progress on helping Heather and Hans get their house built.
One thing that I was able to do, which isn’t really that big of a helping in terms of getting the house building moving forward, was to move the road base that they had next to the foundation hole onto the parking area.
So I hopped aboard their little Kubota tractor, and I spent almost all day getting bucket fulls of road base and bringing them over to the parking area, and then starting to smooth them out.
Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.
I do enjoy driving a tractor, though. 😊
When it came time for a late lunch, my mom brought me out two sandwiches, which I ate while continuing to move the road base with the tractor– back and forth and back and forth. 🙃
I started noticing a bit of a side effect of the Himalayan/Indian food that we had yesterday. I think they used raw cashews in the dish that I ordered because I now have poison cashew mouth and poison cashew rear end (If you’re not familiar with what that is, it’s basically poison ivy of the mouth and ellipse and butt hole.
Gotta love it. 😆
So that’s… fun. 🙃
We decided to head into town late afternoon to get some laundry done at the laundromat. Since my sister and brother-in-law live in a fifth wheel trailer while they’re building their house, there’s no room for a washer and dryer, so they do their laundry at the laundromat.
There is also a mineral bath/ Hot spring place in town that Hans likes to go to, so we headed over to the laundromat, and my mom and sister decided to do the laundry while Hans and I went over to the hot springs place.
I think Hans and I drew the long straw, except… We didn’t ever draw straws. So, a hearty thanks! to my mother and sister for hanging out and doing the laundry while Hans and I hung out in a hot springs hot tub. 😅
It was a nice little soak. And I was grateful that the lady didn’t charge me the normal $15 or whatever it was to get in. There was less than an hour left of open time, and so she only charged me for the price of a shower, which was like $3.80, or something like that.
So that was nice. 😊
After our little soak, and after my first shower in over a week 😅, Hans and I headed back to the laundromat to come out where we helped fold laundry before stopping by a couple of grocery stores to pick up some things for Hans’s birthday celebration and whatnot.
After getting back to the property, though, I realized that when putting my clothes away, my big, thick, warm sweatshirt wasn’t among the rest of my clothes.
Cold nights, over here, so you don’t want to be without a sweater. Accordingly, I drove ET back to the laundromat, unfortunately without a heater, as that decided to bite the dust, but gratefully, my sweatshirt and the towel that had been put in the dryer with it were both still in the dryer, no one having run off with them.
So I drove back to the property, slightly entertained by the fact that an apple that I had laid on the front of the van next to the windshield wiper stayed in its place despite going 55 mph, taking several turns, and going in and out of a parking lot. 🙃
Once I got back, we all chatted for a little while, and then I headed out to the van to get ready for bed. I think I took the opportunity to catch up on posts, writing maybe three that night? I don’t remember. But I started working on catching up on posts to chronicle what’s been going on over the last week or so that I have been posting.
And that was the day. 🙂
Lift the world.
