So yeah, it was a 14-hour night’s sleep last night. And It was a bit of a challenging night sleep as well, in that I had a dream that lasted all night, but it was a nightmare. 😕
It was really weird.
It was about my college girlfriend who, had things been just a tad different, I would have married.
I don’t remember a lot of the dream at this point, but basically she had gotten married, and then she I think had gotten divorced or something, and then she found somebody else, and I lost the opportunity to be with her again.
It was so real. So vivid. I loved her deeply, and all those feelings were there in the dream.
It was brutal.
Waking up, I found myself dealing with feelings of loss and a pretty significant loneliness.
Most of the time, I avoid those feelings by just being so focused on so many other things all the time. So many projects to accomplish. So many things to do. So many…
But it hit me pretty hard for a good little while…
It was a work day, though, so I had car stuff to focus on instead of having an empty day where I could make poor choices like dwelling on loneliness.
The first job was a Jeep Wrangler that he wanted all the spark plugs and coils replaced on. He’s been a long time customer.
He provided the parts, and so it was just me doing the labor. Other than the fact that all of the spark plugs were improperly gapped out of the box, which meant that I had to spend a bunch of time carefully adjusting the gap on a bunch of iridium spark plugs, that job went relatively well.
It’s a pretty long job, so it was decently paying.
The next car was going to do the radiator on that Mercedes.
It was a beast. 😅
I think I could do it a lot faster if I ever had to do one again, as I think I found some ways around some of the things that made it super challenging, but holy cow, that was a beast.
I didn’t get it finished until well after dark, and once finished, the darn thing had another fluid leak. It was badly leaking either power steering fluid or engine oil or something from one of the cooler lines. It was a teeny teeny tiny pin prick hole, but clearly under enough pressure to drip out pretty significantly.
I let the customer know, and gratefully, he didn’t blame me for that. He had mentioned seeing a leak, so, I guess that’s something.
Sorry for all the boring posts.
Lift the world.
