Happy birthday to my friend Brittani in Utah.
29, I think.
🎊🥳🎉
Hope it was a beautiful day.
…
As for me today… My friend Chase flew in from Alaska and the wee hours of the morning, and I met him at the AutoZone in Rogers to help him with his truck. He switched jobs from working for the mining company in Alaska to going back to the oil fields in North Dakota, so he was picking up his truck that he left in Arkansas, and then heading north.
He asked me if I’d help him rotate the tires and change the oil. So I got to autozone about 8:15 this morning, started helping him.
The super cold weather from yesterday bled over into today, so it was a right bit chilly.
And the quick tire rotation in oil change turned into a much bigger job when, as Chase was tightening the bolts on his driver’s front wheel, the upper ball joint snapped in half.
😶
I guess better now than on the drive north, but that was definitely pretty nutty. Never seen that before.
Instead of a quick 30-minute, or whatever, quick job, turned into I think three or four hours before I said goodbye and headed home.
I chatted with our neighbor Dan for a bit who had swung by to see if We could do some trade work to get one of our riding lawn mowers fixed. That didn’t work out, unfortunately, but that’s okay.
I then spent probably the next 2 hours chatting with my hill brother Jim about the vision for the property in the future.
We walked around the property down by the pump house and greenhouse leftovers in the lower field by the creek…
I started making a google sheet, listing out the dreams and hopes for Haven Hill in the future.
I likely won’t be here, but I can probably do a lot to help before I leave.
I still don’t know where I’m going. But that’s something that’s gotten a lot higher on my priority list lately.
And things have changed quite a bit for me in the last couple of months…
As some adventures come to a close, others begin.
Lift the world.
