Jim had the morning to work together on the hill to try and further the cause of the hill and make progress on the things you want to get done. He was hoping to get some wood chips to keep the weeds from growing under the trees between his house and the barns.
That meant we needed to unload my trailer, which was on my list of things to do, because I also wanted to get wood chips to put down by the deck and by the mailboxes, so I gratefully accepted his help unloading the trailer, and then I spent the next 7 hours, or so, doing wood chips/mulch runs until the tornado warning siren went off just as I was pulling into get the last load of wood chips.
Needless to say, I didn’t get my last load of chips. 🙃
🌪️
I love severe weather. 😁
The major downside to today’s severe weather was simply that I didn’t get my last load of chips, and the part of me to like things to be completed didn’t get the satisfaction of having that particular box checked off my to-do list. 😆
One more run. 🙃
Well, several more runs, but one more for that particular to-do list item.
Anyway, so we got the trailer unloaded, and on the way to get my first load of wood chips, I grabbed the little tool shed that I had purchased last week, or so, and I put it down by the deck.
Then it was off to do wood chip runs.
I put the first load down by the ramp to the creek next to the deck. The second one went by all the dirt I had to delivered by the mailboxes. Loads two and three went on the west side of the carriage barn. Those are the loads that Jim will use for weed control underneath the trees between his house and the barns.
Loads five and six went into the garden field, where we plant all of our vegetables and everything, and load 7 went into the cornfield.
Just my luck, load 7 was a pain in the butt to get out. I had to back the trailer into the cloud field, but I didn’t want to back it in too far, because I didn’t want to get stuck in the soft soil, but it was also on a bad angle so that when my dump trailer lifted up, it raised the back end of the truck far enough that it couldn’t get traction to pull the trailer forward, which meant that I couldn’t dump the trailer out.
🙄
So instead of getting done quickly dumping it out and being able to get to the last load, it took me a long time to dump out load seven, which made me late for getting load eight, which got me there just as the tornado warning went off On my phone, and the sirens started blaring in town.
What are you gonna do? 🤷
I was disappointed, As I mentioned, but nothing really to do but accept it and go back for another load another day.
I got home just as the deluge began. I love Arkansas storms. Love love love. 😁🥰
One side effect, however, of the inability to properly get the wood chips dumped was that when they finally did dump, they covered part of the upper road, which turned into a dam when the deluge came, and the water flowing around the wood-chip dam was going over my little speed bump and down into the road in front of Jim’s place.
😬
So I grabbed a pitchfork out of the tool shed, and started going to town trying to clear the dam, so the water would flow into the field like it’s supposed to.
I got soaked, but I kind of like doing that kind of stuff out in the rain. ⛈️
The only concern, really, is the lightning. ⚡
Anyway, I got enough of it cleared away that the water was going into the field much more effectively.
After that, I headed home. Happy (the name my mom gave the z3, got sick. Check-engine light came on when she was driving home from getting the tranny fluid changed), and there were two codes–one was a lean code, and the other was some weird code I’ve never seen before.
So I took a look. I found that the air intake had split rubber, so that could well be the cause of the lien code, as unmetered air is getting into the system, so I ordered some parts for that. I also noticed that the brake booster vacuum hose is collapsed, so… I ordered a hose and a check valve. Those should come in in a couple days or so. Hopefully, we’ll get happy call on the road soon. 😊
Internet was back, so that we nice. I did some scheduling and whatnot, and my mom and I watched the recorded broadcast of the 3rd Starship launch. Fun stuff. I love to see what humanity can accomplish technologically. 😊
Love and hugs.
Lift the world.
