2024-06-10 (Monday) — Skid is Thiiiiiis Close

I’m probably getting my days mixed up, but I guess that’s what I get for being slow and not getting my posts out on time.

Another late night with a lot of JustAnswer work. Still killing it.

Monday was quite similar to Sunday. Worked A bit to start the day.

Then I taught Rafe how to change the oil in his Ford Escape. I also got the rear door unstuck. Someone had been working with the door and had broken the door clips, so the door panel was loose and caught on the interior of the car, causing it so the door couldn’t be opened, and cracking the door panel from being pulled too hard.

I’ve seen that before, So I knew right away what was going on, and though it wasn’t easy to get the door unstuck, I was able to get it unstuck, and I was able to get the door panel removed so the door could at least be opened and closed while we wait for the clips to come in.

I eventually got back to working on the skid steer. I was able to get the rest of the hydraulic fluid and get it filled up. I started running the skid steer just a little bit, trying to work the fluid through the system.

Then I spent most of the rest of the day working on getting the crap cleaned out of it, cleaning out all the dirt and debris and hydraulic fluid that was all over on the inside.

I was also finally able to grease the last two zerks at the bottom, and I noticed there were two more zerks that I didn’t grease– where the bucket pivots when it dumps and scoops.
